Well, you know, that’s still better than eathing a cheeseburger with industrial-strength Coke.
You don’t post in a vacuum, fella. What you’ve posted in this thread isn’t all that matters. Why on earth would you believe that to be true? In the recent past you admitted to (and described in detail) something pretty damned foul. Foul enough to be given a forcible break from this board. Do you honestly believe that people aren’t going to link that to you simply because it didn’t take place in this thread? Get real.
You came into this thread and made a jackass comment that wasn’t even funny because the point that you thought you were making isn’t true. Because of your stupid joke, I made a joke right back at ya but unfortunately for you, it is true based on your posting history.
Now, run along because you’re just dragging this out longer and longer than it needs to be. It was over in post #143. Fifteen posts later you went back to an even earlier quote from me to drag it back up again. This is still going on because you seem to want it to.
So, I ask again, are we done here or not?
I tried not to let it ruin $1.29 Filet-o-Fish day.
The irritating thing is that at a lot of places the cheeseburger is the smart choice! Take Arby’s menu, for instance. A roast beef melt (beef with cheese!) has less calories and fat than their market fresh turkey sandwich, by a lot!
A lot of these places try to dress up their food and proclaim it healthier when in reality it’s just as bad for you if not worse than things like a cheeseburger.
That shit pisses me off because people who think they’re making the smarter choice sometimes aren’t. It sucks that you have to look at every nutritional menu to be sure they’re not sneaking in calories and fat.

PS: Cherry Coke Zero is pretty damned awesome
No. Eat another box of ho-ho’s and fuckin chilax!
Yes they do. What veggies don’t do is satisfy a craving for sugars and fats.
You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about.
I’m starting to understand why you’re so attracted to five year olds…
You’re damned straight it is!
But here’s the thing.
I’ve lost eighty pounds eating cheeseburgers (double meat, double cheese) for the past few years. I’m still a fattie by most standards but I know I didn’t get fat eating double cheeseburgers. Crazy thing I found out was got fat eating the bread it came on.
I don’t think the OP knows what she’s talking about, but I don’t really care. She’s whining about other people whining. Everybody whines about something. I’m more concerned about why these obese people over the past twenty years have gotten that way. Low-fat everything came up around that time. All the now questionable concerns about saturated fat came up around that time. Twenty years of fretting about fat over Lean Cuisine dinners and Snackwell black cookies (they are in no way chocolatey! Don’t be fooled!) did more to contribute to obesity than any cheeseburger and diet coke.
When I stay away from processed, simple carbs I find my daily diet takes little self-control. I’m just not hungry. What DOES make me want to binge is sitting in front of the tv for an hour and being teased by commercials. That silky swirl of melted flowing chocolate they keep showing is killing me. I don’t even know what they’re advertising, I just knows I wants it. I only watch about two hours of television every week. I can’t imagine what it must do to couch potatoes who watch every night. It must be some form of brainwashing.
Maybe I’m overreacting there, but I wish more to know why we’ve suddenly lost control over the past twenty years than bitching about what other people do that I don’t like (texting drivers, pushy smokers, skinny people who bitch about being too fat, Dr. Phil, those morons who spend their free time patrolling the border for “cucaraches”, anti-Atkins you-know-he-died-fat-and-from-a-heart-attack people, grammar assholes, people who call them nazis, horse people, anti-Pit people, condescending snotwads who think cussing makes them sound tougher, people who hate cats…aw hell just about everybody)
I think fat people probably disgust the OP more because she finds them aesthetically displeasing than spillover on the airplane seat. No big deal.
You will not find this attempt at dragging me into the past to your advantage.
Do us all a favor and quit while you are behind.
Shot from guns…shot from guns…that name sounds familiar.
Ah yes. I remember now. You were the girl with whom I was arguing about taking things seriously. You were of the opinion that we should not, and I, that we should. And you were slinging joke-y insults at people like me until I realized that you were, in fact, not taking it seriously, and that I should too (as you can tell, I haven’t quite gotten there yet). With that in mind, I’m a lot more inclined to take your position.
Please explain myself to you.
Regarding your photo, Shot From Guns… seriously? I was surprised you chose that photo to post because you certainly don’t look thin in that photo. You didn’t have a better photo to illustrate your non-fatness? Quite frankly, your thighs and calves are chunky, and you can’t see the rest of your body, as your abdomen, upper body and arms are obscured due to the baggy shirt, and you can’t really see the full extent of your face because of the way your head is tilted and your hair hangs.
Maybe you’re just bottom-heavy – a “pear” shape – like myself, but it’s dishonest to act all high-and-mighty when you’re quite soft yourself. If I am wrong, then post another shot that clearly shows your body.
Chalk up another for “Missing the point.”
What disgusts me about Shot From Guns’ attitude is her insinuation that she is somehow a better and more worthy human being because she has such perfect self-control and has not let herself become obese.
You may very well have wonderful self-discipline in terms of controlling your appetite, but that certainly does not make you a better person than a “fattie.” In fact, your hateful, judgmental, mean and unsympathetic demeanor show you to be a very bad and worthless person indeed.
And by the way, you look pretty young, so who knows what the years will do to your body. Pregnancy, illness, life circumstances can always change… I was a skinny child and a waif-like teenager. I was of a normal weight for most of 20’s and started gaining as I approached 30. I am now 34 and about 30 pounds overweight right now, just for the record. And I don’t blame anyone but the poor way I have reacted due to shitty life circumstances.
Me too. And Shot From Guns does do a passable Amy Acker.
You claim you’re hot…XLS?
OK, if I missed the point, can you please explain it to me?
I was just surprised that the OP presented herself as being this awesome “smoking hot” non-overweight person, and going off on fat people… then she posts an ambiguous photo of herself with chunky legs and the rest of her body obscured… could she be engaging in some sort of weird self-hatred due to her suppressed realization that she isn’t quite so skinny?
Could it be kind of like that gay-hating Republican state senator who was recently caught at a gay bar with his male “companion”?
I don’t know, that choice of photo just seems strange to me.
Actually, it does, at least with respect to the “not being a fatty” part.
There’s a lot more to this than I ever realized. I’ve lost quite a bit too and I had to get off processed carbs nearly entirely to do it. My hunger level is completely different.
I didn’t get fat on giant cheeseburgers; I was a vegetarian during most of it, and ate a diet very rich in fruits and vegetables. I got fat on just a little bit too much food over a long period of time, combined with poor self-image caused by assholes like the OP. It was watching the carbs very closely, and near-elimination of sugary food, that enabled me to diet without feeling like absolute shit. Oh, and growing up enough to be able to ignore assholes.
I’m sorry, but willpower ain’t just it. I dieted through months of feeling shaky, weak, and tired and lost less than I do now not feeling hungry. Try doing an intense cardio workout when you feel like you want to faint. Good luck.
It took throwing away Weight Watchers and all of that crap and going high protein and whole grain. Even then, I need to carefully track what I eat just because my metabolism sucks and it’s really easy to eat a few hundred calories extra a day if you’re not weighing and measuring. But I think what people need is useful education and incentives more than anything. There’s just a ton of misinformation out there, and “eat less, exercise more” – which I’ve heard on this board, to from a doctor when I asked for serious weight loss assistance – just isn’t enough.
Yes, there are whiny fatties who are self-deluding. But the massive number of people gaining weight came from somewhere, right? Is it so hard to believe that it has to do with the major changes in our food supply?
