Ok, the jerkoff has left the building. Christ, it’s like the day after an all night bender where there was the asshole in the room and everyone on the boards was on a all-night bender and is waking up in a groggy state. Wait, can I say Christ? Wait, can I say ‘wait’?
Look you stupid bastard, I was in Panama two years too, 193 Infantry Brigade, Fort Clayton. Hard core? You must be out of your fucking head. The jungle no place for weaklings? Shit. I did OK there, and I’m no Rambo. Try peddling that bullshit somewhere else. Hardcore my fucking ass.
Good Christ. I’m starting to feel like Gunny, revving up for his “… Namby Pamby land … here’s a box of tissues” speech. If he really did almost get hit by a machete, I guarantee it’s because him and the other assholes were fucking around being stupid.
The more I read that place though, the more it makes me want to cry. Not so much though that I don’t want to see if he starts a thread about his ass-kicking here.
Well, hope it was worth it for those who wanted to engage him, but his posts didn’t really seem to go anywhere. Guy spent way too much time trying to puff himself up and nowhere near enough ranting the way he apparently feels perfectly comfortable with on Chimpout. At least that would have provided a bit of sick entertainment instead of boring us all to tears.
What does bemuse me about mooks like this guy (and the like-minded recent visitor Don123) is how they seem to find it a complete mystery as to why anyone might take exception to their opinions. Absolutely baffling to them. Hunh.
Well, I was threatened with a machete while I was doing research in South America*. Does that mean I get to be a bigot now?
*We were being kind of stupid - trespassing to get to a good field work spot. In our defence, we didn’t know it was private land.
Hmm…no. I never did think another person being injured or assaulted was funny.
Sure I’ve done some things and said some things in my teen years that I no longer agree with, but never in my life have I found unprovoked assaults funny or exciting.
Then again, I don’t lack empathy for other people, either. I guess because I’m not a sociopath.
Because there’s no effective treatment for sociopaths, all we can do is make our position known, like others have said, for anyone possessing a conscience who may be reading this thread.
Aww, just like my grandma earnestly warned me when I was 13: “Look at OJ Simpson!” Oddly, 15 years later I’m sill alive too! I’m sure it’s only a matter of time. (And actually, she and the rest of the family really liked my last serious boyfriend, who was black. They still ask about and wish him well on a regular basis. They were able to adapt to the circumstances around them, to some extent, because they actually have some redeeming qualities, which is neat.)
And as for my beautiful, sweet, intelligent, high-achieving biracial daughter, we can only assume that horrible things will become of her. Just because she’s scored in the top 2% of standardized tests since preschool and has unbounded compassion for all people and animals, doesn’t mean she shouldn’t have chicken bones thrown at her, I’m sure.
