For example many, many times American POW’s were able to dress a new prisoner in drag so that a Gestapo officer would become smitten and let his guard down while drinking schnapps and chasing him around a desk while the rest of the gang smuggled blueprints for top-secret bombs out of the camp undetected.

Based on the links provided I cannot get on board with this pitting. I see no racism on Shagnasty’s posts to which you link. You may be correct that some of his facts aren’t straight: I don’t know. But I see no more cites in his post than in yours.

You seem to be totally missing **Shagnasty’s **point: as I’m reading it (and really, he makes his position pretty damn clear) he’s saying that treating people well is usually a good thing. He is not saying that blacks should not have been treated equally as well. Indeed, he may well think blacks should have been treated better than German POW’s: he doesn’t say and it isn’t relevant to his point, or the thread in which he was participating.
I thought it was common knowledge that the Germans treated prisoners of war (especially British and American soldiers) humanely, and according to the (then) agreed conventions.
