I seem to have a habit of hitting that comma to often and try to edit the extras out before posting but am not always successful with the editing.

Yes and no. You are correct that the joke (such as it is, which ain’t much) refers to OpalCat, but what is supposed to make it funny is documented in the one and only post here. Which is probably worth a read on general principles.
