It is weird how the original show is on Netflix but new ones will be on Hulu.
Hopefully, they’ll update the pop-culture references in the new seasons, to be a couple generations behind the current one. It’s original airing had way too many references to 50’s - 70’s culture to make sense for a kid in the 90’s. This time around, I’ll be the one getting the deeper jokes while the kids are enjoying the slapstick and antics. Mwahahaha .
I bought the first series on DVD a while back when I saw it at half-price books and was rather disappointed. I rather liked the series as a kid, but this was just lame jokes, senseless antics, and references to dead actors and times long past.
I might need to break down and add Hulu finally. Maybe I will alternate between Netflix and Hulu.
If Amazon Prime was just video I would drop it as it basically sucks, but the video is a bonus to the Free 2 shipping.
What I found most striking when rewatching was the pacing. My memory of the show is that it was Joke,Joke,Joke,Joke. It really isn’t. Still funny but my friend tried to introduce his son to it and he was bored by the episodes (liked the songs though).

Re: Animaniacs - I just hope the new stuff has as much intelligence as the old stuff did. I think grown-ups loved it even more than their kids did.
Re: Hulu/Netflix - I have both, because there are things that are more routinely found on Hulu than on Netflix, and vice versa. To my mind, Netflix is more likely to have really watchable original content. But Hulu is the go-to for old television.
Of course Hulu isn’t available in Canada. That is a lot of WB content missing.
