Anyone?
I am.
Was there a thread last week? I thought the women’s scheming was incredibly silly. They didn’t seem to realize that every time there’s an elimination in your team, your team gets stronger. Yeah, you still want your team to win, since you yourself might get on the chopping block, but a strategy for one team to dominate over the other is ultimately self-defeating. In fact, it’s completely futile since you’ll still have to compete with the strongest remnants when the teams merge.
I really wish they didn’t split the teams male/female. It does nothing but provoke some ass on the boys’ side to make misogynistic comments, as the late unlamented Jason did.
Still watching! I just wish HK would start with some actual good chefs like Top Chef. I would love to see people who know what they are doing with food battle it out. I am growing a bit tired of the weenies who have never been on a line before crying when someone is mean to them.
Oh, and Jason’s mysogynistic comments made me wanna get all stabby on him. What a pussy.
I’m watching too. This year’s bunch really seem to be a load of ninnies. I’m rooting for Louross though, Go short men!
Poor Vanessa! If she needs a consultation with a plastic surgeon, that’s a REALLY bad burn. But the whole idea of her trying to cook with one hand wrapped in gauze is insane. Nevermind the pain – there’s pills for that – how on earth can it be sanitary? That gauze will get contaminated with something very quickly, and then she’ll be transferring it to every dish she touches later on. Yick.
The red team came off as marginally competent this week. For this early in a season, that’s remarkable.
I’m surprised Ramsey didn’t say that his decision this week was one of the toughest ever … because he’s dying to be rid of all three of them.
I would be watching if I didn’t have to work Tuesday nights. I try to catch it on breaks but we’ve been too busy. I only saw the last few minutes.
I agree that it would be nice to see people who are somewhat more experienced but it seems like the actual restaurant workers are always the ones left in the end anyway (with the exception of the annoying nanny last season).

What’s Ramsey’s beef with Ben? I don’t get it. He doesn’t seem to make any more mistakes cooking or otherwise than any of the other goofs.
Ramsey does seem to hold a huge amount of animosity towards him, and it wasn’t just because he was a tool for celebrating too early. The only thing I can figure is he was pointed out as the men’s best chef early on, and he’s had weenie excuses ever since (he was brought down by “different techniques” to cook salmon? The hell?).
“I’ll give 100%, Chef.”
“I’ll give 125%, Chef.”
…“I don’t understand percentages…but I’ll do…whatever’s more…”
I’m pretty sure a lot of gray matter leaked out of that scar on his head at some point in time.
That may be the greatest line ever, especially given the way he said it, with so little conviction.
I thought it was a real asshat thing for Ramsey to make Ben come forward when he was never going to eliminate him. Grovel…grovel…grovel.
It’s TV and this is Los Angeles. It doesn’t have to be that awful for plastic surgery to be considered. (Though it did seem rather bad)
Craig was screwed ever since Ramsay made him get rid of the hat. He couldn’t hide his little chef and had to rely on his own talents.
Yeah, I’m really surprised she’s been allowed back into the kitchen. The bandage is a cross-contamination just waiting to happen, and it can’t be doing her any good - it looked like she was awkwardly trying to grip a knife in one of the next-week previews. A sure-fire plan to slice off a finger.
Best-case scenario would be something along the lines of the producers pulling her out and saying “Even though you were an absolute idiot for grabbing a pan full of burning oil, we’ll pay for your medical treatment and the plastic surgery, and give you ten thousand dollars if you leave now.”
ETA: Yes, it’s a lot less than winning the prize, but it’s a hell of a lot better than she’d get from California Workers’ Comp.
They can probably dismiss her for almost any cause. I’d be surprised if the contract favored the contestant over the production company.
I’m still watching although don’t know if I can deal with another pasta making session (every season the same? Couldn’t they at least change it up a bit and make ravioli?).
I agree with Ben being called out- I don’t think Ramsey hates him- I think he does think he has a chance and wants to wake him up. He did a similar thing to Ralph in the (first? second?) season. IIRC, Ben did rather well in the first episode and stumbled in the last two.
We didn’t have a thread last week, but I did respect Christina for picking according to how the service went and not being a weasely bitch like Corey. I liked Ramsey warning “the black Ramsey” (sorry can’t remember his name) to pick wisely last night- which I read as a clear indication that Corey has a long way to go to dig herself out of her decision.
Right now I am rooting for Christina or Jen on the women’s side, Petrozzi is the only one I like on the men’s side.
I’m still watching too. I would like the chefs to have to do something really exotic, something none of them have made before. It would show who has actual talent and who just knows how to cook because they’ve made the same dishes over and over again. It would probably have to be a challenge though as I don’t think Ramsey and the show would want to serve the “experiment” to actual customers.
So far I’m rooting for Jen and Louross.
I’m still watching this train wreck. This season’s chefs, WTF? I can’t even comprehend being able to put together a bunch of losers like this on purpose. Surely (hopefully?) someone is laying in the weeds, but I doubt it…The men’s team is especially bad - painful to watch , really.
The odd thing is that these folks actually claim to have some experience. Craig was a sous chef. Yet he was utterly useless.
They should have brought Julia back. She may have been from the Waffle House, but she was competent and could follow orders.
I’m assuming that one of the women are eventually going to shine through, simply by lieu of generally being less insane than this season’s men.
But good god, what the hell is up with Jen? I think Dominic was the right choice to fire in the first episode, but following Jen’s long-ass defensive rant in ep. 2, on top of the fact that she seems to be completely insane and extremely annoying, I was shocked that Ramsey decided to fire Sharon instead.
I wonder where they keep finding people that are so self-diluded.
