Heloise, my precious namesake, died today.

My sweet Cornish Rex had been sick for some time. She was staying at the vet hospital and passed away this morning. She was a beautiful, eight year old calico with a bit of mischief about her that made her wonderful. She was as clutzy as me, liked to get into trouble, and was as affectionate as you could ask for. She liked to rest her head on my hand when I was trying to use the keyboard and she loved to rub her head against a pen if you were trying to write. If you were reading a book, she would have to sit in front of it and if you held it close, she had to rub her head against it. She could be as obnoxious as she was beautiful, but if you were sad, she made sure she’d comfort you. I’ll miss her so much. I’m just glad she’s not in pain anymore. I love you, my little empress.

:frowning:

I’m sorry to hear about your loss, sweetie. I lost two of my childhood pets–Princess, aged 17, and Lady, 13, in the last few years and I know how agonizing it is…esp. when they’re so sick (Princess’s decline was heartbreaking).

I’m sorry for your loss. :frowning:

Very sorry to hear that, Heloise, I hope you are doing as well as can be. I do not look forward to the day this happens to mine.

I’m so sorry, Heloise. She sounds precious.

Even though I had to give Mr. Underfoot and Watson up for adoption many years ago, I still miss them.

I’m sorry you’re sad. :frowning:

::Sniff::

I’m so sorry for your loss. It sounds like Heloise had a wonderful life. You can feel proud that you gave that to her.

Thank you for all the wonderful thoughts. She truly was a beautiful friend that brought me lots of joy and I am blessed for having had her in my life.

She’d also find the most convenient places to sleep, like, say, on your head.

She was a lot of fun. It’s the old cliche: she’s not in pain anymore, which is certainly for the best. But she will be missed. :frowning:

I’m so sorry.

(((((Heloise)))))

I’m sorry to hear that, Heloise.

I was very sorry to hear of this when Shayna told me this afternoon. Though it won’t ease your pain, try to take comfort in the fact that she had a happy life with you, full of love and affection.

:frowning:

I’m so sorry to hear about this Heloise. :frowning: Much love to you, sweetie.

Thank you, you guys. I really appreciate your warm thoughts. It helps, when there are so many people who minimalize the affect that our pets have on us.

Remember the good times you had with little Heloise.

I’m sorry about your loss. Pets are like family. Tough to lose a family member.

{{{Heloise}}} I know exactly what you’re going through hon. My Athena passed away last week and I miss her very much. Allow yourself to grieve and talk about her. It’s hard, but you’ll get through it.

And if you believe in Heaven, she’s happy and healthy and probably running around with Shadow and Athena.

I am so sorry for your loss, Heloise. :frowning: She sounds such a dear, and very much like my Sir Wilbur is now. It is a relief and a blessing that she is no longer suffering. I think Grace is right, little Heloise is running around in pet Heaven with Shadow, Athena, my Sassy, and all of the other doper pets.
