I’m glad to hear she checked ok Coldy. Your reaction speaks of true love to me, Heloise is a lucky woman, and you my dear are one lucky man to have her. (But I’m sure you know that.)
Coldie, I’ve thought about you and Heloise several times recently. You always sound so happy when you’re talking about her. While this situation certainly was traumatic, it appears to have ended well enough and believe me, we’re all so thankful for that. Times like this can make us so cognizant of how much someone else means to us that it can actually hurt. So glad she’s gonna be okay!

I just saw this. I’m glad Heloise is alright. I saw the pic of you two smooching on LJ a couple of days ago and it made me smile. The two of you look so sweet together.

That’s pretty lousy news, but I’m so glad she’s not too hurt. I will say, that after my own relatively minor car accident, I was nauseus, but it was from worry. Nothing more.
I’m sorry you two still aren’t together. I know how horrible that can be. I can’t wait for her to get there.

sigh Coldfire, I appreciate you posting this… and I’m awful glad your sweetie is alright… just wanted to say that i have fallen for a wonderful woman… (clear across the damn US… in California) and I talk to her every morning… twice… 
I have thought of and fear the EXACT scenario you describe! I hope I get out there before I have to hear anything like you described…

Thanks for all the well wishes, guys. Heloise is at home, sleeping softly at the moment. She’s in considerable pain: in a previous car accident a few years ago, she hurt her back pretty bad. So we need to stay on top of things now, and see how it all develops. I mean, stiffness and muscle aches are normal after a big shunt like this, so there’s no need to panic straightaway. But should the pain not subside in a few days, she needs another check-up at the hospital.
I’m mightily pissed off at the driver that hit her, though. He lied to the cops about his speed, and the circumstances of the incident. He claims he came to a full stop, and was then rear-ended by an S10, resulting in him hitting my wife at “7 to 10 miles an hour”. Well, I don’t know how on earth one could TOTAL a fucking RAV4 at that speed (probably, we won’t know until Monday whether it’s salvagable or not)! According to Heloise, the guy sped up to avoid being hit by the S10, and then was unable to stop in time for her. So he hit HER, and THEN was hit by the S10. Quite a different story, certainly in terms of liablility. The cops gave off hints that they didn’t believe him, though. Heloise’s car was the only one in a 5 car crash that was unable to drive off unaided. And a RAV4 is a sturdy vehicle. 10 miles an hour, my ass: I’ve crashed a Peugeot 306 into an Opel Astra at about 35 to 40 kilometers per hour, and both cars were damaged but driveable. There’s no way in hell that guy did anything under 30 MPH. Fucking liar.
OK, done venting now.
I advised Heloise to stay home another day and relax. She doesn’t have internet access at home at the moment, so it’ll be a few days until she posts, but she was very moved by all the reactions here.

I only just saw this thread, so I apologize for not being able to say what I wanted to say. Instead, I’ll send hugs and comfort to both of you. Were there witnesses to the accident? If so, I’d say don’t worry too much about what the twit who hit her says.

Here’s wishing for a speedy recovery, and a quick reunion.
Siege, it was during rush hour traffic in Phoenix, so yeah, plenty of witnesses. Although I think only the 4 drivers involved were interviewed by the police.
Johnny, if all is well, she’ll be moving to Holland in a matter of 2 to 3 months.
Coldfire & Heloise–I just spotted this thread too. I’m glad Heloise is going to be okay.
Remember, there are big & small problems. Any problem that can be solved with money is small, like fixing or getting a new car.
