Make that till Saturday morning. I’m going down there to get her.
Damn, if I were still there, I’d go get him. How’d you lose yer puppy in Colorado while living in Chicago?
Is your dog at the Table Mountain shelter? If so, we could probably do it. Or, I’m sure Nancy Page at the Bed and Biscuit (52nd and Indiana) doggy day care would probably do it. I’d be happy to look into it, if you’d like. The only problem with her staying with us would be our other dog. If they got along, it would be no problem. Let me know.
It’s a long, convoluted story, from when my Ex and I divorced. I wanted Cassie to stay with my son, since they had been together since the day he was born.
After I moved to Chicago, my ex had to give her up; Cass wasn’t adjusting to apartment life well. Since then, the family that adopted her abandoned her, she was taken in by a shelter, and abandoned again.
I am flying down to Denver in the morning. I will rent a car there, and Cassie and I will drive back to Chicago.
Necros, I understand Miss C has been in contact with you re: this, and I appreciate it! Hopefuly, everything will be good already. The biggest problem I know of, and the main reason I want her out of the shelter ASAP is that she doesn’t like other dogs. When I got her (she had been abandoned then, too), she had been having to fight for her food. The scars are still visible on her snout.
Why someone would abandon her is so far beyond my ken that I can’t even begin to explain it. I’m just happy I get a second chance, no matter the cost. I figure you don’t often get the opportunity to make the things that made you most sad right again.
Yes, Miss Creant emailed me, and I sent back all my relevent contact info. We’d be happy to pick her up tonight if you’d rather she didn’t spend the night in the shelter. If worst comes to worst, and our dog hates your dog or vice versa, she could hang out in the back yard, and we can swap the dogs in and out.
Let me know what you’d like me to do.
