At the very very very beginning of all of this, my sister enthusiastically asked me to make her dress. She said it’d be quite special to have my handiwork on her, especially since at the time, she was thinking that the dresses were the only thing she’d have a say in. And thinking I’d be the only MOH/bridesmaid, I said I wanted to make my own dress too. She’d been going around telling her friends how SPECIAL her dress will be, though. Not sure what she’d been telling people about the bridesmaid dresses, so maybe I can get away with telling her to go with the mass produced route.
Well, your use of marriage is not quite right. Traditionally, at a Chinese wedding, the bride does wait in the chamber while the groom parties on through the night, only stumbling back to the “honeymoon suite” at wee hours of the morning after being a gracious host and entertaining all his friends. But that’s 18th century bullshit. Not even the villagers in Bumfuck, China do that anymore. I suspect my BIL-to-be’s family was saying that just for argument’s sake.
I think the cake issue has probably tempered down by today. Today after work… I’m going to give her a call and just TELL HER.
