Help! I am about to be sucked into an argument about adverse covid vaccine reactions

Stranger, I took your advice - second post in this thread, and walked away. Unfortunately not soon enough, to get deluged with a blizzard of nonsense.

My co-workers used to chorus (about similar things): “This could only happen to you.”

The universe people live in is influenced by their anecdotal experiences. I’ve had a bad case of “the flu” maybe twice. As a rule I feel it coming on hard and take my regiment of voodoo supplements. It works itself through my body from top to bottom in a day. I just don’t seem to have problems with it. conversely, I’ve had 2 flu shots in m life and they didn’t go well at all. Might as well just have gotten the flu. I haven’t had a tetanus shot in 57 years because I’m apparently allergic to it. The first and only one I had was really bad.

I know many people who’ve gotten covid and it was mild for all of them. Possible side affect in one of them that’s now gone.

So in my personal universe nobody I know has suffered from getting covid and I have had bad experiences from vaccines. I’m not adverse to getting the covid vaccine for the greater good but I expect to suffer for it.

For people who are not prone to health issues from covid the argument has to be aimed outside their personal universe.
