KEtH, Nothing yet, will definitely let you know if anyone responds.
It sounds familiar but I can’t really place it. Could it be by Freeport Convention maybe? It was kind of hard to really hear it.
Someone at work told me it sounds like an artist from India named Ashah Bhosle. She sings in a lot of different languages. I checked some things out on her but she has a LOT of songs
To me the words are
as long as you are hear close to me, in love is how we’ll be living
together (in audible) I feel there is no (in audible) Love is all
Anyone else get this or am I off? Google and Yahoo reveal nothing yet
Do you mean Silver Convention? It’s certainly not Fairport Convention.
Yeah that’s about what I got, and nothing, but its not uncommon for big disco/club hits that didn’t cross over to not have their lyrics posted online.
Anyhoo, I got repsonses to two of my three queries- one ida know, another ida know that they thought sounded like Randy Crawford with the Crusaders, but I came up empty that route. I guess its possible its a tune made for the Prisoner show that just sounds like something more popular?
My other is posted on discomusic.com “ask others to identify a song” forum below, so far 34 looks and no responses, but still safely on the first page- these guys have answered some pretty obscure requests per my browsing, and with over 6000 members I hope someone knows it. If not, my next plan is to tackle their 700 gratest disco songs of alltime, one by one…
The sound reminds me of Dr Buzzard, which it is not, but August Darnell wrote the material for the group Side Effect, and their sound clips on Amazon and the couple of whole songs on youtube sound like it could be one of their songs, but I can’t find clips for all of their songs to be sure. The time period is right, as is the sound of the female vocal, but that’s true for hundreds of acts I guess.
Prisoner (Prisoner Cell Block H) was known for NEVER spending more money than necessary so I’m sure that is a real song. They probably just turned on the radio. And since Prisoner was filmed in Melbourne Australia I bet it’s a local artists.
It does happen that you can miss a song or a song is popular in one location. For instance in Texas when I was young we had a song called “Ariel” and very few people have heard of it, but it was on our radio station all the time. Which means our local station must’ve really liked it or rather the DJ.
I’m thinking it could’ve been a song like that. And if the producers at Prisoner just turned on the radio and it is a song from Melbourne it could be that it’s from 1975 - 1980 easily.
I’ll get this, I got feelers everywhere…LOL
That is a song called “Love is All,” I think it’s Madeline Bell singing it. But Madeline’s voice is a bit lower. It could be her though. Anyway the song is definately “Love Is All”
I found a clip of it at yahoo music
HAH! kiss
And you call yourself useless!
I listened to it on Rhapsody, and her voice does seem to be a bit lower…but I will chalk that up to it being played on a radio on that show. Or maybe it was covered -note by note- by someone with a voice that is a teensy bit higher. Whatever. This works for me!
Yay!
You’re awesome! I owe you a coke.
Its definitely the same voice in both clips- perhaps a different mix on the disco disc, who knows, but mystery solved.
double post
Hooray! I love the Dope.
