Last night, the Law and Order rerun was “Floater”, where they pull a body that had been in the water a month or two (“I’m not even sure it is human”, and the classic line from the on-scene ME*, “Did I mention the eels?”).
Well, it got me thinking about another episode I’ve been looking for, for several years, with a body in the Hudson, and the thing that made the case interesting was that the body wasn’t recently dumped in the river, but was frozen all winter, and now that spring came, it melted and floated downstream. I think the body was thrown into the water from a bridge far upstream, but instead of floating away immediately, it got frozen, which threw off the timeline of the crime.
I would swear this was a L&O, but I’ve never stumbled acrtoss it watching reruns (but I’ve seen Floater several times). Maybe it was CSI:NY.
Yes. That episode is the reason I never watched NCIS. I hated Jethro and his entire staff. Buncha bunglers. I haven’t watched it since, so maybe I should check it out.
The episode does seem like it could be it. The summation doesn’t say anything about the body being frozen, though I think the title could be a clue!
By the way, how mnay times was Rabb accused of murder! Sheesh.
I recall that I saw the episode ‘Ego’, but no memory of any details really, and I can’t find a detailed plot description on line. It will be aired on the WE network later in the month if no one has any other access to it. I can’t even get that season on my regular cable On Demand service or whatever it’s called these days. Even my wife can’t recall and she was fascinated with bodies dumped in the Hudson and where they showed up later. We used to live just a couple of miles from the Hudson and she claimed she wanted to find one of the bodies some day. Seems like at least once a year someone went missing and was known to be or suspected to be in the river. I think more likely she was plotting my demise and trying to work out a good alibi.
Well, yeah, that summation doesn’t; but maybe try this one: “Ducky interrupts to tell them that three months is probably quite accurate and that their victim was in the Potomac at least that long. Abby jokingly wonders if Singer was racking up frequent floater miles. “Being an Ice Queen. She was frozen”, Ducky replies.”
I found the episode on line, in one of those mirror-image video sites, so I watched SICN investigate GAJ, but yes, this does appear to be the episode I remember. The bridge scenes matched my memory image.
And Gibbs is still an asshole. As well as Blackadder is AAF. Age and time did not change my opinion.
And SD is still the place to answer all those impossible questions!
