Ok,
I was just sitting here listening to music, and “Lemon Tree” by Peter, Paul and Mary came on my playlist. Suddenly I had a … “Déjà entendu” of sorts. No no, I’ve heard the song before, but this time I realized I’ve heard another song very similar to this one recently. I can’t for the life of me remember what it was, but I swear it has several of the same (or very similar) music passages as Lemon Tree. Especially the ones during
*“Dont put your faith in love, my boy, my father said to me,” *
and

And in the dark she left behind, I knew what she had done.
Shed left me for another, its a common tale but true.
A sadder man but wiser now I sing these words to you:

Now, I wish I had more information but all I have is that it feels like that other song is humorous or a parody of sorts. It could be from a TV show or internet, but probably not the radio. I feel like I’ve heard it several times. I feel “god above” and “me and you” could potentially be in the lyrics.
And no it’s not “Pop Goes The Weasel” (which is what people suggest when I give them the tune).
Anybody? Before this melts my brain? I’m seriously developing a headache because of this…
Please…
