HELP! I've found my father and I'm terrified.

Yeah! Congratulations on a happy ending/beginning!

I’m so glad it went well.

Good to hear… so do you have any hopes of meeting him face to face in the future?

Awww, I love happy endings. I’m looking forward to HELP! I’ve found my father and I’m terrified part 2, where they reunite and go on a lovely picnic. But the picnic is disrupted by a pack of hungry ants. The father-daughter team are able to outwit the starving ants in this hilarious, yet heart-warming comedy.

Starring: Sean Connery, Drew Barrymore
Director: Steven Spielberg
Runtime: 162 minutes

You guys are great! (ewakko, d_redguy would like to know who will play HIM in the movie. :stuck_out_tongue: )

There are no plans to meet my bio dad or his family yet. That may come later. We’ve exchanged email though.

No worries about my parents, everyone. The man who raised me will always be my father. He’s the one who loved me, fed me, taught me to ride a bike etc. No one could ever replace him.

We all get to start breathing again! <whew!>

Good show, jes.

Hooray! I’m so happy for you. I’m glad it went well!

I’m so glad for you, hyperjes! Congrats!

I was still holding auditions.

This is just wonderful. I’m really happy for you, Jes.

Don’t think of it as a happy ending; think of it as a happy start.

BTW he’s a cop, right? How about turning up at the front desk with a bag of doughnuts? :}

excellent! i’m so happy for you.

you had me on the edge of my chair on the 21st. if you do decide on a face to face meeting, the doughnuts are a great idea, an easy and fun way to break the ice. good thinking qts.

Jes count me in as one who teared up at such happy news.

Do you know how many times I checked this thread to find out what was going on? Do you know how many dopers here were with you spiritually pulling for a good vibe occurence? It’s almost like a bunch of labor coaches rooting for you. Whew.

qts and rocking chair, the doughnuts are a lovely idea. He and his family live many states away, though, so any meeting would have to be completely pre-arranged.

Shirley, I do know that many, many dopers were pulling for me. Honestly, I don’t think I can effectively communicate my gratitude. Without everyone’s support, I might have chickened out completely. Thanks again to all of you.

SO WHAT HAPPENED?

Read back up the thread, KingLupid. Middle of the second page. A long post. Right there in plain sight.

Thanks! my skimming skillz failed me!

If you want to be taken seriously here, you might want discard abominations like “skillz.”

I couldn’t be happier that it went well, hyperjes!

Wow, I know you feel great, but I bet he feels awesome, too! As a parent that was seperated from his first child for 5 years, I can tell you that it hurts everyday. After so much time for him, he must have just gotten used to it.

Congrats to both of you! You can never have too much love in this life!

Thank you, KingLupid. And welcome to the boards.

whiterabbit, don’t worry I would never seriously use ‘skillz’ in a post; I was poking fun at my lack of skill in skimming the posts previous. I am definately an enemy in the fight against the ‘ganstaization’ of the English language.
