Well damn, please ignore the first part of the above post (before Van Halen).
Something on my clipboard found its way into my post.
Apparently I have hamsters of my own.
How embarassing.
PREVIEW! I know, PREVIEW.
…just takes so damned long…

Diotima? (Although I’d be surprised if we didn’t already have one lurking about.)
Just Googling around on various combos of classical, chemical and engineer got me some things that I find cool in an odd sort of way, but I don’t know that they’d be for you. Here’s the one I liked best:
Identity of Indiscernibles This is a principle of Liebniz’ that no two objects can have the exact same properties. I thought it sounded pretty cool. but I get the feeling that I have gone too far afield.
Here’s a great name for a Chem Engineer/Philosopher:
** Marie Curious**
I do love Medea’s Child. It has been me for a long time and I’m comfy with it, as sounds, as letters to type. Its got a good flow, and I like flow.
But again, I’ve out grown the tempestous, passionate high schooler I was. I’m more tempered now. Sarcasm more than fire.
I wouldn’t mind using something with my real name, which is Kathryn, quite pretty. Or even the greek word it comes from, kathos, which means purity. I just can’t get anything to gel. (However, I detest my middle name.)
I like Marie Curious.
stockton, What, Category 4 wasn’t a suggestion?
Bosda, Sensual Covalent Bond is actually going on my list of considerations. I can’t quite say why I feel attached to it, but it has flow.
Gazelle, Ideas Wild ROCKS!
And I know that name changes are a PITA for everyone, and that’s one of the reasons I’ve been putting off changing. Like I said, I do like Medea’s Child…its just not me anymore and the cognitive discord (and feeling of dishonesty) will eventually force me to change.
Thank you all for helping me get a grip on this. As with all things with me, I am still thinking and revising, and any and all help is very appreciated.

Child’s Medea. Turned around, I think it could work. You’ve now contained what once was too powerful for its own good.
Acerbic ardor. Biting, fiery, sarcasm.
Kathryn the Grate. Meh?
One of my friends turned Sensual Covalent Bond into Sensual Covalent Blonde.
If I use it, that’ll be how.
I like that one… Of course, I like most names with “blonde” in 'em…
I like your current name. If you have to change it, I like Qadgop’s suggestion the best (Media’s Child). But really, you shouldn’t change it.
I know I shouldn’t change it, its a big PITA. But its not me any more and I feel like I’m lying to you all, wandering around with the name that isn’t me…
and I managed to find one you’d be okay with dantheman?
I’m paging through Kipling looking for ideas.
Hey, whatever you want to change to is perfectly hunky-dory with me, despite my earlier post, which was so way tongue-in-cheek that my mouth hurts. I guess long as we know it’s you, who cares what your name is; we’ll still like you for who you are.
Jon Benet?
Why not do the “Find your porn star name” thing, and take your middle name plus the street you grew up on. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

Since you’re focusing on ethics, you could go with Medea’s Legitimate Child.
Anyway, wasn’t Minerva goddess of Science among other things? Maybe change to Minerva’s Child. Keep in mind I’m just suggesting these names so ppl will see it and say “Hey, that must be Medea’s Child’s new username!”
