Help me find new electronic/dance music.

Royksopp is described on Wikipedia as “Downtempo” or “Trip Hop”. So you might like groups like Faithless (Dido’s old group), Massive Attack, Portishead, Zero 7 and some others. Although much of that music isn’t really danceable.

I have a terrible time organizing the electronic / dance music on my iPod by genre (House, Trance, Eurodance, Eurotrance, Progressive house, Acid house, whatever). So I’ll just throw some songs I like out there and you can decide.

ATB - 9pm (Till I Come)

Sasha - Belfunk (I recommend the entire Sasha + Digweed Northern Exposure Expedition 2 Disk set.)

Darude - Feel The Beat

DJ Tiesto - Jonas Steur - Fall To Pieces

Dee Dee - The One

Push - Strange World

Fatboy Slim - Remix of Boston’s Long Time

I’ve found new music that I like (I tend to prefer trance but some of what is played probably fits what the OP is looking for) simply by listening to podcasts. I suggest Subterranean, Trance Around the World, Trance Tuesday, and Store N Forward.

Bitter:Sweet, Jimpster

I like the first Northern Exposure.

Above and Beyond: No One On Earth
Ferry Corsten: Made of Love (seeing him on Friday!)
Rabbit in the Moon: Out-of-Body Experience
The Orb: Little Fluffy Clouds
The Future Sound of London: Papua New Guinea
Eric Prydz vs. Pink Floyd: Proper Education
Infected Mushroom: Becoming Insane
Solarstone: Seven Cities
Paul Oakenfold: Southern Sun
Aphex Twin: Windowlicker
Jam & Spoon: Right in the Night
Banco de Gaia: Last Train to Lhasa
Tiësto: Forever Today
Robbie Rivera: Float Away
Rank 1: Airwave
Ulrich Schnauss: Nobody’s Home
Cicada: The Things You Say (Dirty South Remix)
Armin van Buuren: Communication Part 3
DJ Shah Featuring Adrin Thorpe: Who Will Find Me
Imogen Heap: Hide & Seek (Tiësto’s In Search of Sunrise Mix)

You might also want to grab some old Ministry of Sound, Paul Oakenfold or DJ Tiesto compilations.

You need to listen to Ghostland Observatory immediately.

Might also try Crystal Castles and Ratatat. Those aren’t so heavy on vocals-- in fact I think Ratatat lacks them completely-- but they’re inarguably bouncy and fun.

I am enjoying this thread, a lot.

What about Basement Jaxx?

Especially “Oh My Gosh” and “Take Me Back To Your House”.

Also, one of my favourite dance songs is Fedde le Grand VS Ida Corr (Why is it VS? I never got that) - “Let Me Think About It”

I like Where’s Your Head At. A couple more:
Future Sound of London’s Papua New Guinea
John Digweed’s [URL=“http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rL1kXvfFhU”]Heaven Scent

I’d recommend checking the playlist for WBER. The bottom of the page (Elektrobank Playlist) is updated with the latest that they’re playing, plus some older stuff as well. If you have digital TV, the Dance and Electronica channels are also a good source.
