Why? According to the internet, lots of people seem to have rape fantasies, and most of them can enact then in ways such as having consented sex with adults. Plus many rape roleplays usually do include a backstory, otherwise the rape element would not really exist… I myself have no real problem with it as long as they keep it as a fantasy…
What’s more insane: Getting off on a woman getting raped or wanting to discourage such things? This kind of pork normalised rape. The aficionado of this is also getting off on the suffering of the husband/father. These folks need to be institutionalized.

You should consider that rape as part of the larger story might normalize it to the masses, while rape in a niche fetish porn flick might satisfy the urges among a niche group that might otherwise seek other outlets for those urges.
I disagree that it should be illegal. It is by definition not a crime if it is a fantasy played out by consenting adults. It’s also not actually rape. “Rape” fantasies are probably one of the most common fantasies among men and women both. The thing about fantasies of non-consent is that the fantasizer is in control of everything, and therefore consent is a given. So really “rape fantasy” is an oxymoron.
Of course, there’s a whole conversation to be had about increasingly violent pornography and its impact on the acceptance of said behavior in real life, and how we balance that with the reality that it’s okay to be into some freaky shit as long as everyone involved is consenting. As part of a larger story, say in a romance novel where the hero rapes the heroine, or where the rape is used as a throwaway plot device…I have a much bigger problem with that, because that to me reinforces dangerous cultural messages in a context much more relatable than a porn video. I don’t think those things should be illegal, though, either.
I meant in a mainstream film where the rapist us portrayed as evil. Jeez…why must we allow psychopathology to be depicted in a positive manner?
