"Rape" sex?! What the hell is wrong with you people?! (Fucked up!)

Okay, occasionally I go to a website that has links to pictures of a, shall we say, “adult” nature. The pictures are linked under various categories, such as “Beautiful women” or “hardcore.” Recently I went there and found they had added several new categories, marked by asterisks (*). One was “midget sex,” which, while not my cup of tea, is still within the realm of ordinary human behavior. Another was “hairy,” about which I will let you draw your own conclusions. But the third, “Rape sex,” I found PROFOUNDLY disturbing.
I haven’t dared to look at any of these pictures, but I am hoping that it means only ‘simulated’ rape, and not the real thing. But I’m not sure that by itself means much. What kind of people would WANT to look at even simulated rape?! And aren’t the people who run the site more than a little fucked-up just for putting a link to such shit on? There’s already links to every other perversion known to man (that is legal, until now) on the site. What next? ‘Simulated’ child porn? They already have that at other places. Can’t I even go look at nudie pics without rubbing shoulders with twisted perverts anymore? I mean, where does it end?!

And it gets WORSE! Just today I got a spam mail with “Rape sex!” in the subject heading. (No, I’ve never given my e-mail address to any porn site. I have had it since 1995 though, which is more than enough time for it to get around.) Why would anyone send out ADS for this sick shit?!?! I’m just dumbfounded.

To all you sick bastards making and selling this crap, go to hell. In my mind, there’s not much of a moral difference between someone who indulges in rape and someone who likes to see it performed, even if its only pretend rape (something which nobody could determine from a picture alone. For all we know, those could be REAL RAPES depicted!).
I hope you get your dicks caught in a meat grinder, you messed up pieces of shit.

what, you’ve never heard of rape fantasy? for plenty of people there is an appeal to relinquishing control in a situation where you know you’re safe. i can’t speak for anyone else, but acting out a rape fantasy with my husband actually makes me feel protected, feeling that someone has some control over my life.

while i would worry that the photos could be of a real rape, i don’t see anything wrong with people acting out harmless fantasy.

All pornography involves fantasies of control and domination. That’s the diffenece between nudity and pornography. If you watch pornos of people having sex, the porn stars obviously know they’re being filmed, but presumably the characters don’t. Is that not violating their privacy?

i’m not exactly disagreeing with you, the ryan, i just don’t understand what you are saying… i mean, in all movies the actors know they are being filmed and the characters presumably don’t. does that make all movies an invasion of privacy (keeping in mind that lots of characters in movies do things that they wouldn’t necessarily want aired publically)?

the ryan, go play in the road.

Violation of Privacy? For a fictional charcater?
WTF:confused:

I seriously doubt any photos of “rapes” you see on a porn site are of real rapes. A rapist probably wouldn’t want his crime to be documented and distributed on the internet, unless he was a complete fucking dumbass. If he was a cfd, his crime spree would likely be quite short.

Besides, it would take much less effort to just pay a model/actress to fake a rape for the camera than to film a real rape, kill the victim (hey, while you’re at it you could make a snuff film!) and dispose of the body. Then kill and dispose of the cameraman, because, as they say, two people can keep a secret only if one of them is dead.

So by this rationale, if you enjoy watching films by say, John Woo, that makes you a murdering Asian gangster?

Or watching Trainspotting makes you a heroin addict?

What the fuck?

This is a fantasy.

Just watching a portrayal of people engaging in an activity that is, in real life, illegal does not make you a criminal. Or even a fucked-up, sick individual. It makes you human.

Let’s be annoying for a minute and look at definitions. One definition of “fantasy” is: The creative imagination; unrestrained fancy.

And “imagination”? Defined as: *The formation of a mental image of something that is neither perceived as real nor present to the senses. *

Get it now?

Just for further explanations, let’s look at another definition of “fantasy”–An imagined event or sequence of mental images, such as a daydream, usually fulfilling a wish or psychological need.

Some people have a psychological need to be submissive or domineering. These fantasies fulfill those needs. Just as most individuals who enjoy these things don’t dress in provocative clothing and go walking in dangerous areas alone in the dark looking to be raped, most also do not go out looking for people to rape. Thus is the nature of fantasy.

I understand that rape fantasy is not your thing. That’s fine.

But some people like it and they are no more disturbed than you.

BZZZTTT!! Sorry, thanks for playing, we have some lovely parting gifts for you.

cool, the SCOTUS will be glad to hear the definition.

I don’t even know where to begin on this one…

abuse angel

In some sense. In porn, it’s the invasion of privacy that’s so exciting. In most movies, it’s not an issue.

If the OP is concerned about the rape of a fictional character, then why not be concerned about the violation of privacy of a fictional character?

I can understand the discomfort, but there are plenty of decent folks that it works for.

A recent GF of mine liked to be held down – drove her nuts. Made me feel kind of, uh, “icky” at first – and I worried that I might get to like it and transfer it somewhere else… An unwarranted concern, thank god, but it didn’t keep me from doing that to make sure she got where she was going.

Many, many years ago, I had a girlfriend with whom I used to trade up dominant/submissive roles – one week on, one week off. No SM or anything like that, just unconditional obedience & no argument. Maybe a little peculiar, but it gave me a little insight into the attraction of having someone (that you trust) in complete control.

Personally, I find most pornography ugly and demeaning. Particularly when there is a violent undertone, even ass slapping and what-not. I find the usual “accessories” nothing less than absurd. Don’t see the attraction. But millions see it differently, apparently. Rape imagery would leave me cold and disturbed, I hope.

Whatcha gonna do?

I’m sure if I made a film record of what I consider to be sublime sex, it would leave a lot of people scratching their heads.

Uh… different strokes for different folks.

Ahem.

Oh, I BEG to differ!!

No, it means I enjoy a fictional story, which is CLEARLY presented as fiction, wherein certain people act out roles that give a sense of vicarious excitement.

Let’s be annoying for even longer, and look at my original post, where I said “there is no moral difference between people who enjoy watchng such things and people who do them.” Nowhere did I claim voyeur = rapist in anywhere but the moral realm. Obviously, having pictures of a rape wouldn’t send you to jail for the crime. It’d just make you a sick fuck.
And dare I mention that your rationale works just as well for child porn? Are you going to claim that people who look at that are just “human,” following their “fantasy”? try telling that to a vice squad. See how far it gets you. Obviously, I think this shit should be in the same category. Someone should go to jail for making this crap.
**

And as I said before, we have no way of knowing whether what these pictures show is real or not. Hey, I believe in freedom of the press about as much as anyone you could possibly find. Do I think the right to free speech covers depictions that may or may not be really showing women (or men) being tied down and brutally attacked against their will? No. And I think if every bit of this scum was burned tomorrow, nobody but the perverted fuckers who make it would care.

hey, something we actually agree on.

Either modify that to ‘some’ or provide a cite (as in a peer reviewed formal study.) Pornography may not be your cup of tea, but it most certainly does not all involve control or domination.

I once participated in a “rape sex” fantasy. Would you like to hear about it?

Of course not. That’s why I’m going to tell you.

We were college students, and one summer her parents split town for a week. One night, she–not me, no way–suggested that we might play out a little fantasy. She confessed to me that she thought it might be fun to be tied up and “taken advantage of.”

Well, I started out to the car for the jumper cables and duct tape, but no, that wasn’t what she wanted. She wanted me to break in to her house, unannounced, run her down, tie her up, and have my way with her.

Frankly, I thought this was a little bit fucked up, but I agreed that sometime that week, I wouldn’t tell her when, I’d, well, rape her. We arranged a few details. First, I would call within an hour or so of my “break-in” so that she could leave a door unlocked (no need to damage anything). Second, we had a prearranged code word–“red light”–which would stop everything right then and there. Third, after I called, she’d put her parent’s little rat-dog in the basement where it fucking belonged.

In those days, I was not the clever, suave individual you would see today if you ever saw my hulking six-foot five frame and enormous genitals. Back then I was a five-nine idiot with a smaller than average member and the common sense of a moth.

So the next night, I drive to the 7-11 near her house, call her up and ask her if she wants to see a movie. Sure, yeah, I’ll be by to pick you up in an hour yadda yadda. Then I hop in the rod and blast over there in about five minutes.

The front door is locked. No matter, thinks I, the back screen is always open in the summer. And sure enough it was. I crept inside…

And that little bastard fucking rat-dog laid into me like my legs were two ham-hocks. “OW! Goddammit! Fucking dog!” Into the basement with that little snarling tornado, but not before it nipped me again on the finger. What the fuck was it thinking? I’d only dropped by to rape its guardian.

My legs were bleeding, so I had to wrap them with paper towels and tape 'em off with scotch tape from the kitchen drawer. Quietly, I made my way up the stairs with my rape-kit. I crept into her bedroom, and there she was, dressed as if she had just gotten out of the shower…

“Oh, I thought that was you. What are you doing here so early?”

What? The fuck?

“I’m here to fucking rape you, dammit!”

“What’s wrong with your legs?”

“Your fucking dog… would you just shut up and start screaming?”

“You want to rape me now? I just got out of the shower.”

“Look, do you want to get raped or not?”

“Well, you’re not very convincing.”

“Your damned dog was pretty convinced.”

“Yeah, but he hates you anyway.”

“All right, fuck this. Look, I’m the rapist. Get your ass on the bed and prepare to get violated.”

“Oh, okay.”

I reached into my handy rape-kit, and pulled out a few pairs of panty hose which I had discreetly relieved my girlfriend of the night before, in order to tie her up.

“What the fuck are those?” she asked, “I was looking for those all day, you bastard!”

“Well,” I said, “you wouldn’t go for the jumper cables.”

“You stole my panty hose? I needed those today, you dumass.”

“Oh, just shut up and let’s get this over with.”

“Dick.”

I tied her down and pulled out my secret weapon: a peacock feather.

“What the hell is that?”

“Shut up, bitch.” At this point, I was beginning to realize the versatility my role provided me.

“You are NOT going to tickle me with that. That’s it. Red light, we’re calling this thing off.”

“What?” This was unexpected. “You can’t just bail out of this whenever you want! You’re supposed to be getting raped, fer chrissakes!”

“No, screw that. This sucks, I’m done, and if you piss me off any more, your ass is out of here.”

“Oh, fuck this,” I said reasonably, “let’s go see a movie.”

She was still pissed at me about ripping off her panty hose. And for locking away the damned dog without turning on the lights, because it tried to scratch its way through the newly painted basement door. And for bleeding on her comforter. I got no nookie that night, at all.

So the moral of the story is this: there is nothing fun at all about rape, not even when you’re faking it. I recommend against it.

I hated that fucking dog.

I’d have a pretty hard time getting my dick caught in a meat grinder when I look at rape fantasy sites, considering that I’m a girl.

I betcha cute blonde 21 year old feminists in sundresses arn’t exactly your definition of “twisted perverts”, “perverted fucks” and “sick fucks”.

Yeah, I get off on rape fantasy porn. I get off on some pretty disturbing rape fantasy porn. I don’t know why, but I’ve always had strong fantasies along these lines- I would even masterbate to non-sexual violation fantasies when I was a young child who didn’t know what sex or pornography was.

I usually switch off which posistion I identify with- from rapist to victem and back. I enjoy strories (I like stories better- they can tell so much more than a picture can- but I’ll look at pictures on occasion) that are told from both perspectives. No, I’ve never been abused. And no, I never would want to rape someone (even if I were equipt for that sort of thing), and no, obviously I don’t actually want to be raped. As a feminist, I think this sort of thing is bad as a cultural ideal, but as a girl who likes to come, I am glad I live somewhere where I have access to the sort of thing that gets me off.

Yeah, maybe there is something wrong with me, but I have a hard time believe that is true. I probably have one of the healthiest outlooks on sex of anyone I know (and if you knew me personally, you’d probably say the same). It’s just kink. There are all kind of kink (If you want disturbing, look at the 90% silicon and hairsray jobs that populate soft pornography) and really my kink doesn’t have the least bit to do with you. fuck off.

If it were real, sure. If it’s simulated, like rape-pornos are, then no. Same goes for child port. Real is illegal, simulated is not, so says SCOTUS. No more than watching a movie where the main character murders someone, or gets high on heroin.

Seeing as how most porn is made by porn studios (IIRC, anyone know for sure?) I find it highly doubtfull that they’re going out, dragging someone back into the studio, and then raping them. Or do you wonder if that John Woo flick dragged some unfortunate guy out of his day job, tossed him a gun loaded with blanks, and then proceeded to kill him for their movie (Hey, would probably save on special effects…).

Not to mention the difficulty it would pose to rape someone, record it and distribute it widly, and then not get caught. When you commit a crime, you try to leave as little evidence as possible. You don’t go showing photos of yourself doing it all over the internet (Not if you don’t to get caught, at least). And if some person is raped or found murdered, and then shows up in some porn film, chances are the police have a little clue as to who did it.

The chance of a rape-porn being real is incredibly low, and I certainly don’t see how a fictional case of rape is any worse than a fictional case of murder, etc.

Sofa King, may whatever you worship bless the heck out of you for that story, I desperately needed it. May the laugh you just gave me return to you when you need one.

I like rape fantasies. I even write erotica that I guess makes me the moral equal of a rapist. (Odd, considering I have personal rules of consent that are far harsher than average. But you said I’m the moral equivalent of someone with no respect for consent at all, so it must be true.)

I also like Buffy the Vampire slayer. Does that make me the moral equivalent of a souless blood drinking demon?

Fantasy and consent are two seperate areas. Consent is reality, and you are right to be horrified by the real idea of rape, of any sort. I do not take the idea of consent lightly at all, I insist on verbal consent for any specific sexual act I partake in and I am very clear about what I want to do and where I want to stop. That is reality.

In the safety of a trustworthy relationship the fantasy of a lack of consent can be very powerful. If its not your bag, by all means don’t try it. (Number two rule of kink. Number one rule being if at any point any one involved is less than gung ho about the idea the idea is tabled. But wait, I forgot, I can’t possibly have any respect for consent in real life because I create smut. Whooops, toss rule number one.)

Fantasy is not reality, that’s partially why is can be really fun to include in my life. Think what you will, but I have to count actual harm to other people as being far worse than consentual activity, whatever the trappings.

And Sofa, may I C&P that and add it to my personal smut file?

Sora King, that was one hell of a funny story! I’m sure it wasn’t that funny at the time, but you know how that is.

Now the serious stuff:

You must be aware that the Supremes just ruled that simulated child porn was protected by the Constitution. I’m not sure I like that either, but the fact is, if the vice squad tries to bust you for something that’s a portrayal of child porn, that didn’t involve actually molesting any children, the highest court in the land just told them to forget it.

By the same standards, I would expect that a portrayal of a rape that didn’t involve any actual nonconsensual sex would be equally protected. I wouldn’t want to see it, and I’m not sure I’d feel comfortable around anyone who wanted to watch such portrayals, but it looks like it’ll be as Constitutional as church on Sunday, if it ever comes to a ruling.

Lizard, the whole “rape fantasy” thing is the theme of a subset of the historical romance genre, too. The nice lady next door may be addicted to books where the pirate kidnaps the innocent lass and takes her against her will, except two pages into it she finds she doesn’t really mind.

Erotica and porn that simulates rape is just a notch up from that. Men and women find it stimulating.

Sure, Medea, I’d, ah, love to be included in your personal smut file.

Do I get a heading?
