Help me: I really liked Tommy Lee Goes to College"

You know, I’d have avoided the show had the USAToday critic not lauded it. But he was a vocal fan of Buffy and *Angel *, so I gave *Tommy Lee * a shot.

I found myself giggling like a fiend. The editing is so cute, that I actually started to find Tommy Lee (gulp) attractive. And, no, I’ve not seen his infamous home video, though I’ve heard that he’s quite endowed. (Trust me, fellows, penis size isn’t that important anyway.)

Highlights:

Lee auditioning for the marching band and trying to learn the songs.

Lee starting his own fraternity, “The House of Lee,” and selecting the fringes of society to be his brothers. I would have loved to have seen the reactions of the “cool” houses to see how they felt being upstaged by Lee and his band of Geeks. Popularity is sooo fleeting.

The hot chick tutor getting jealous when Lee admitted that another chick was helping him out with chemistry. “Was she cute?” “Yeah, but I couldn’t help it; the seat next to me was empty!”

The post-finals, all-night party where the marching band accompanies Lee to “I Will Fight for Your Right to Party.” There’s something way attractive about synchronized percussion.

To be honest, I never saw what Heather Locklear saw in him, but I get it now. I still wouldn’t want my daughter to be on the same campus with him, let alone dating him, but I can see that attraction.

Or maybe it was the clever editing.

I’m kinda surprised at how much I liked it. I have to think that it comes down to the fact that Tommy Lee doesn’t appear to be a dick. I saw the bit where he was struggling to learn the drum parts for the marching band; that was enough to get me to watch (most of) the rest of the episodes.

It’s weird – being a Crue fan, it just didn’t quite jive with my mental picture of him.
