Help me Id this song..

I’ve raved about the SDMB to everyone who has every had any conversation with me and now I need some help. My friend has given me the task of finding out the artist/group that had a song in the eighties with these lyrics in it:

“Christian boy you can’t ride your scooter in the graveyard anymore”

That’s all the lyrics we have. :smack:

Please have mercy on us and see if you can find the name/and or band that had that song.

Thanks!

A big nuthin’. Can you be more specific… male singer? New wave? Straight up rock? R&B-ish? Any distinctive musical instruments or stylings?

new wave and I think its a guy- I never heard the song but they played it on an old alternative music show on the college station when we were in high school- about 13 years ago.

Could it be one of these?

Ok here are some more lyrics:

“You’re a christian boy and you cant say no to all the girls…”

the chorus contains “no more scooter ride in the cemetary”

And its definintly a guy singing. It has a fairly fast tempoed beat.

Came across this ancient post in doing a poor Google search this morning. Upon using a better arrangement of keywords, I have the answer… only what, 14 years later? Ha. Anyhow, this 80s favorite on SF Bay Area radio station The Quake is Robert Seidler’s “Christian Boy” featuring the hard-to-forget chorus haunt, “No more scooter rides in the cemetery.”

Here it is on YouTube: Christian Boy - YouTube

Wow, great first post! Welcome to the Straight Dope Message board. I have a feeling that the original poster is not around to appreciate your Google-fu.

That song is weird.

We need to put **adrenaline_jen **on the case of Who Shot Tupac.

Good job, adrenaline_jen! Welcome to the Straight Dope!
