This morning I woke up with a snippet of a commercial running through my head. I know I’ve seen the commercial lately, and it’s driving me crazy. Please help me save my sanity by identifying it.
Apparently I am a failure at music-based technology because I can’t figure out how to record the snippet and post it here, but it’s really easy to play. The notes are:
GGGGGGAB
This is sung, with lyrics. After that in the commercial, there’s another three-tone response from another person that IIRC is mostly spoken/singsonged in kind of a nonchalant tone. Then the original snippet is sung again, maybe with different words. I think the response is the same in both cases.
Does anybody know what this is? I hope my explanation is clear enough.
I have faith in the Dope!
Any idea of what the product is?
What is the response, and how long are the notes?
No idea what the product is. I was half-thinking it was Daisy (the dollop people) but I can’t find any commercials that have it. Pretty sure it’s some kind of food product.
The response is three syllables. I don’t know what the words are. The notes are a quick succession. Just play one right after the other, with a very slight pause between the last G and the AB. Sorry, I’m not very musically inclined.
Not quite the right notes and not food related, but the count sounds similar to Nationwide is on your side.
Definitely not this one, but thanks!
I have the answer! The commercial actually came on tonight. It’s the Cheetos “It Wasn’t Me” spot with Ashton Kutcher.
Here’s the original song by Shaggy (who appears in the Cheetos ad).
I’m so out of touch I had no idea it was based off a real song.
