Description: The album cover was very hippy/surreal looking. It had one or two people on the cover, and one of them (a young woman, I think) was wearing really weird glasses. Around the lenses there were flowers or plastic rays or something. I think she (or the other person on the cover) was holding a strange string instrument, like a long oriental guitar or something.
I could have *sworn *it was a **Sonic Youth **album. But when I googled their album covers it did not come up.
Xtc? I forget the title, and I believe it has more than 2 people… And there are no girls
But it is one of the most famous covers of that era and it is psychedelic.
Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I found it! And completely by accident.
So this evening I was listening to the album Evol by Sonic Youth on CD. The CD contains a multipage insert. I have never opened the insert, and decided to peruse it.
The reason you all had trouble finding the album cover is because I royally screwed up the description in the OP. The person in the pic (Thurston Moore?) is not wearing glasses. The “flowers or plastic rays” I recall were his fingers! :smack:
Apparently the song was released as a single on 7" and 10" vinyl, and the pic was the album cover. And that’s what I must have seen.
