Help me name my kitten! ("Kitty pictures?" But of course!)

He looks like one tough little hombre. How about “Bruiser”?

[whoa]The cat we had while I was growing up was Gussy – we found her on the first of August, so young that it wasn’t clear what sex she was, so decided to name her either Augustus or Augusta, gender TBD. [/whoa]

IMHO you gave him a great name… Buddy.

Young lady, you know you have violated Section 1354.5 of the " Too Many cute PUssy Pictures In A Thread" and Section 3476 " Too Many Cute Pussy Pictures in one Particular Forum." And a coupla odders I’ve conveniently forgotten aboot cause I know yer ma and all.

Young Lady, how are people suppose to work when there is so many cute pictures of kitties? Kitties are like drugs. Mind Altering Drugs. It turns the sanest, hardest working fella ye know into a babbling idiot.
Now, I’m willin’ to let you off wit’ a warnin’…this time, but if ye do it again, yer goin’ to the Big House. Unnerstand?"

So many replies! See, this is what happens when I sleep :: grumble :: stupid sleep, being all necessary and such. A pox upon sleep! That’s what I say! :: grumble ::

I should note that I am trying to stay away from the more typical cat names (things like Ginger or Max or Fluffy). If we can’t do funny, I think I like names like Augustus (that one is good, except it tends to remind me of Willy Wonka more than Rome). Some neat historical names, perhaps?

Snickers - I actually like Niblet, but he just doesn’t seem like a Niblet. He’s rather. . . not dignified, per se. Well, he just seems older than he is (aside from the scampering and constant meowing for attention and playing with the air).

Shirley Ujest Oh yeah? YEAH? What are you gunna do about it, copper? Uh oh, how about a lil of. . . THIS! You don’t scare me, buddy. Look at THIS! HAHA! You’ll never catch me!

Oh, and this and this and this (where he has a water goatee :p) and this

And here he is stitting atop his towel tent.

That was a lot of linkin’. Phew!

Squeaky?
Scribbles?

OH MY GOD… that is one adorable widdle kitty !

He looks like a Buster to me. Always liked the name Buster for an orange & white kitty.

Kipke.

He looks like a Kipke.

(Okay, he looks exactly like a Kipke I already know - my in-laws’ cat - but it’s a killer name for a cat.)

You may want to hide for a while, Diosa, because after I show my husband these pics tonight, we’re going to go out and get another kitten for our zoo. And he will want to find you and blame you because I have been wanting another kitten for a year, and it will be all your fault that he caved.

(Please post some more pictures.)

Too much cute kitten…permanent smile…must resist…the… Awwww…He is the cutest little baby ever!!!

AAAAHHHHHH! Cute kitten overload!!! Too much cute!!

oragne start being funny when you type it too much

I have just melted in my chair. I’m such a sucker!

I second the nod for Bean, and **Spaz **comes to mind. Or Flip?

Beaker.

I’m tellin’ ya, the cat’s name is Beaker.

Yay, itty bitty baby kitties!!!

water goatee ! i am undone.

Jeeves might fit him. What’s his meow like? What does he play like? Does he always have his tail straight up like that? For some reason Marmelade came to mind or Paddington (because Paddington Bear was so fond of Marmelade). What about Leo, Flann, or Magnificat? Here is a pet name search site, maybe something there will catch your eye?

And in that footnote was born inspiration. If you choose to name your new feline after our* sixteenth president, who had some whiskers of his own, you’ll be able to say “That was a lot of Lincoln!”

  • yes, I’m aware the {b]SDMB**'s reach is international, but Diosa and I are both in the USA, and I’m addressing her directly

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
I was all over the name, “Avery” until I read xbuckeye 's post with the orange names. Those are pretty good!

I’m all squishy now!!

Just don’t name it John Jacob Jingheimer Schmidt … That’s my name.

No way! That name is my name too!

I can’t name him Lincoln, Sternvogel. My friend loathes Lincoln and would try to assassinate my cat (. . . ok, maybe that is an exaggeration, but still!).

Anywho, I’m at work. When I get home I will reply to everyone and have more pictures

Awwwwwwww, that is one cute cute cute little kitty-cat… Thanks for the pics. I’m awful at naming, but I like the orange-based names suggested upthread…

GT

Thanks for making me grin DiosaBellissima. Actually, it made me chuckle a little.

I’m always disappointed when no one plays.
