Seems to be new kitten day. Help me name mine, please!

Much to the dismay of the current reigning Queens of the household, we have adopted unto us a shiny new kitten.

It’s a girl! I was hunting for a boy, but you fall in love with who you fall in love with, I always say. She’s all soft and white and grey and fuzzy! And she has beautiful blue eyes.

I wanted to give the honours of naming her to my husband, since, while he had a hand in naming our (previously-youngest-now-middle) last kitten, grumbles that he’s never really had a chance to name our pets. So, upon introducing the newest family member to him and announcing that the honour is all his… he chickens out and says he doesn’t know how to name girl cats. You name her, he says.

Well, now, I hadn’t really thought about it. I hadn’t thought about it because I didn’t want to get attached to a name only to have him name her something totally different. And who knows? Right now he’s out visiting with his dad, while I’m on kitten/cat diplomatic duties. But if I had it my way… well, she’s a gorgeous little thing. Very pretty. I’d love to give her a nice, simple, very feminine name. I lean towards Daisy, because I think it is simple and cute… but then I think it might be too silly. Or maybe I’m hoping you guys will tell me it’s not that bad. I don’t know.

I’m looking for something kind of flowery, feminine, cute, and simple.

What say you, Dopers?

Mocha. She’s that lovely brownish-gray color (unless the photos lie). That’s the first thing that sprang to mind.

I have no name for you, but her face is gorgeous, the pattern and the way the colors all come together…

I can’t really tell from the pic, but she looks like a snowshoe! She is beautiful.

Maybe “Skye” for her eyes?

Puff.

Dora. 'Cause she’s adorable!

i’m likin’ mocha.

I thought siamese marked, long haired kitties with white feet were Birman

As far as a name, I like Lily.

I plan to name the next 2 pets I get Snafu and Fubar, the army twins. Which one sounds more “flowery, feminine, cute, and simple”?

Baby - for her baby blue eyes

Oooh, I was going to suggest Lola, but I like Lily.

She’s gorgeous. Can she be my new desktop wallpaper?

She is adorable.
Howzabout Petunia.

Another vote for Lily. Or maybe Eleanor.

no one has commented on the expressiuon on her cute face… obviously “Sulky” is a possible name…

FML

Pepper.

I’m leaning toward Lily, but hubby came home and has decided he does, indeed, want the honours.

And hasn’t named her yet.

So I keep reading off Doper suggestions, hoping one will stick. Not yet. He doesn’t want a Mocha (“coffee name,” he says. “We live in Seattle. I don’t want a coffee name.”) (hey, it was worth a shot, a little Mo would be cute).

“Daisy?” I say. He wrinkles his nose.

“Molly?” I say. “Meh,” he says.

“Maggie?” I say. He sighs.

Nothing yet.

He did suggest Sakura yesterday, seeming to be thinking along the lines of naming her to go with Kero. He tried it out a bit, then tossed it, deciding it was too long. Also, pronouncing it correctly sounds funny, and pronouncing it North American sounds awful. We have enough trouble with Kero, though most people, upon hearing the name, tend to think she was named after corn syrup.

Poor little nameless kitten. I’ve just been calling her Squeaker when I handle her, because she makes funny little squeaky meows. “Weeh! Weeeh!” Squeaker won’t stick, however, since I call all of them that whenever they meow. Hers just sound even squeakier.

The Queens still aren’t very pleased by this little intruder, but I’ve been letting the little one sleep in her kennel, then placing it in the middle of the living room floor. The royalty will walk out, one at a time, sniff, hiss, sniff, hiss, then wander off again. It’s getting a little better, but not much. I’m exchanging her bedding and their bedding to get their scents all mixed together, and gave her a quick bath last night with their shampoo to help things along.

I can’t wait to find out her name… :dubious:

She looks like an Eva to me.

“It is only a matter of time, hairless monkey, before I put my plans into effect. Only a matter of time…”
I say her name is Svetlana.

I came across this name just this morning: Esfir (which may mean butterfly in Norwegian). Someone on LJ is using it for their new Norwegian Forest Cat, but I’m sure they won’t mind sharing!

Yasmine
Holly
Isabel (My kitty’s name)
She’s a beautiful kitty.
