Watch out now, Rooves - I’m getting my (4th) rescued kitty-cat this week, and I may just do that.
Why can’t we have a cat smiley??

MSUbulldogs101 - welcome, and that’s a cool name for a kitty!
My suggestion? Don’t name her right away. Live with her for a while, get to know her, and she’ll name herself. The right name will come to you in a flash at some point. That’s what I’ve done with most of my cats.
Sometimes, in fact, I’ve settled on a name, felt dissatisfied, and had the right one strike me like a furry thunderbolt. Take the longhaired calico kitten I took in many years ago: I mulled a lot of possibilities over. Decided to go with Callie, and even set up her file at the vet with that name, but still wasn’t sure. Then watched an episode of the original Star Trek and it hit me: TRIBBLE. Perfect!
Yes, we definitely need a cat smiley.
I have to second the suggestion of “Tripod”. When I was growing up my neighbors had a three-legged cat named Tripod. So it isn’t original, but a great name nonetheless.
Chuck.
…That is all.
How about forrest Gump… you know with the overcoming of adversity and all.
Lucky
BatCat
CTYCat (Cooler Than You Cat)
I love screech-owl’s suggestion of SuperKitty.
Pablo.
Soft, black fur? That’s a Sable if I ever heard one.
Sarsaparilla?

. . … Ok, so I tried, and it didn’t work …
Conan Toedestroyer or
Furry CarpetShark
I know…horribly bad…only really work with pets that have a tendancy to chew toes.
I like it!
Triffid
Hoppy
IOM = Isle of Man (3 legged emblem)
Better still…Cooking fat (think about it)
She is white all underneath and looks like she is wearing a black cape and hood
Gotta be… Zorro!
EddyTeddyFreddy is right; sometimes it pays to wait.
I had a lot of trouble naming our last cat (I even asked the boards for help). I wanted something dignified. We eventually settled on Higgins, after Professor Henry Higgins in “My Fair Lady.”
Trouble is, as we got to know him we learned the that the cat is an idiot and not very dignified and professor-like at all. Nor is he anything like Magnum PI’s butler, in case anyone thought that was the source.
Apparently Gladys and Claudia both mean “lame”. (I like people names for animals.)
Keep the suggestions coming…we still haven’t decided on a name.
Awwwww!!! She’s a cutie!
