It may conflict with ‘Maggie’ on the other end,
but when I looked at the picture I instantly thought:“That dog’s name is Mike.”.
I’m thinking Gustav Adolphus Rex, or GAR for short
Jondalar
Ayla
OG
Okay, Stoid, I’m gonna give you the name I was saving for my next dog: Spooner. Don’t know why, just like the sound of it. There’s a producer (I think) named Spooner Oldham. That’s where I got the name.
I would also go with Rounder 'cause it sounds roguish, or Sounder, because of the movie.
We’re not naming the defenseless puppy something out of historical soft-core porn! Think of the children!
I say Zeke. He looks like a Zeke.
Or you could name him Cecil Terwilliger Adams and call him Ce-Ter-Ad for short.
thank you all for taking the time to make your suggestions. They are all good ones.
My SO wanted me to call him “Elmo”, which I think is a fine name for a dog, but not really for this one.
I find myself drawn to the name Beauregard, mostly calling him Beau. Even the whole name trips off the tongue surprisingly easily, and the short version definitely does.
For me it conjures up visions of a Southern gentleman, and while he’s not from the South, he’s very much a gentlman.
My SO is concerned it sounds too much like “No”, so that’s my only hesitation.
Anyone want to offer an opinion?
Does sound like no. Unless when you say no to the dog to help him recognize the difference, you say,“NO NO!” Real quick, in rapid succession.
Or you could say, NONOBEAU–but that sounds like a name for a Japanese restaurant.
Hmmmm…this is getting complicated.
How bout Winston?
Winston it is!
(We had three votes for it before you brought it up here. Good name)
