Help Name My New Dog!

We rescued a dog today! He was a little too much for his owners to handle, so they returned him to the rescue organization just as we turned up to check out the dogs. He’s around a year old, and we think he’s a boxer/greyhound mix perhaps with some great dane thrown in.

He’s such a sweet dog, just needs some discipline. He knows how to sit and lay down, and he listens to us. We’re getting him used to the two cats we have now - he likes to bark and growl at them, but we have a gate that lets them run away upstairs away from him. They have had a few quiet moments around each other so I think it will get better soon.

I was thinking Baudelaire, or Chaucer. But I don’t know that those fit. Any suggestions?

Bunsen

Baucer = Baudelaire + Chaucer

I like a name that starts with B. Seems to fit.

He’s quite a handsome fella.

I don’t have a name to suggest, but wow what a beautiful dog!

Bronte.

Kootenay.

Baron. He looks quite noble!

That is a fine looking dog–very handsome.l

I like Mr. Dog as a name.

No name, but I read that if you end the dogs name with a vowel you can kind of draw it out when calling and the dog will respond better to that sound. I don’t have a site but the book I found it in is in the library a little south of here. Next time there I’ll check it out. If the threads still open I’ll let you know.

He is beautiful!

Here are my suggestions:

Woodrow
Boris

If you like “B” names, here’s a page full. Male Names Starting with B

Babar
Baldwin
Barnabas
and
Benson
are my favorites.

Potus.
(President of the United States)

I was going to suggest Chester, which could be short for Chester A. Arthur.

He looks like a Barkley to me. B seems to suit him well.

He sure is a handsome fellow.

I have heard that dogs should be given a name with two or three syllables since most commands are one syllable.

I suggest Samurai.

Whatever name you choose, remember you’ll have to shout it in public!

Right, which is why I fully intend to name the next dog I get “Rabies.”

I don’t know… he looks like a Helmut to me

Just don’t name him John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt.

That’s my name.

Wierd.
That’s my name too.

On a more serious note, how about BEOWULF?
Heroic, ancient, mythic, starts with a B, has wulf in it, two syllables, good for yelling.

Nice looking dog.

You should paint a ring around his left eye and call him Pete.

I love dogs named after drinks:

How 'bout Jäger?
