Not-Jack Names for a One-eyed puppy..?

I have a new foster puppy that I’m considering keeping. He’s a golden retriever, 10 weeks old, super sweet and cuddly, and blind in one eye, probably from being kicked in the head. (Gosh, the human race, isn’t it just sublime?) Here’s a picture and here’s another and just one more.

He’s damn cute.

Names I love but cannot use for various reasons:
Elvis
Winston
Buster
Rufus

I also want to avoid names with a long eee sound ending, since my girl’s name is Maggie and I wish to avoid confusion.

Well, keeping with the one-eyed theme, how about “Pirate”? (I’d suggest “Blackbeard,” but considering the coloring of the dog in question, it wouldn’t be a good fit. Maybe some other, more specific pirate name would be good, though.)

Nelson is a cool suggestion. He had one eye, and it’s a good doggy name. It also reminds me of a book I loved as a kid, ‘A Dog Called Nelson.’

My suggestion is Bullseye, like the dog in Oliver!

How about “Trouser Snake?” You could call him “T.S.” for short.

You can always abbreviate Cyclops to Clops, like in Outside Providence. That is one cute little pup. He looks like he has permanent bed-head.

If you decide NOT to keep this puppy please let me know! I have always wanted a goldie and my last doggie (a bearded collie) was born blind, so I am used to that part of it.
