I used to have a girlfriend with two one-eyed cats. They were brothers. One had a left eye, and one had a right. When they stood next to each other, it was like one big, freaky, 8-legged cat.
We called them Popeye and Stinkeye.
I’m surprised our 2 favorite alien invaders from The Simpson haven’t popped in with their names, so I’ll do it for them.

If you just don’t like the name King or think you’d get tired of explaining it to people, then Duncan, Davis, and Nelson make excellent dignified-yet-secretly-amusing doggie names.

There was a sweet one-eyed foster kitty at the ARK, and we called it Wink. It was a really cute name. Or Winken, of the Winken, Blinken and Nod…

In the Odyssey the cyclops’ name was Polyphemus. That can easily be shortened to Poly. And if you train him to attack evil computer types who invent viruses, you can always say, “Poly want a hacker?”

How about Peeper? Most creatures have two peepers, so using the singular for this dog would fit. Plus, the name has a cute, diminutive quality to it.
I suggest Doig (pronounced ‘Doyg’).
