Help me out, please....who IS funny?

“We had a funny guy with us in Korea. A tailgunner. They blew his brains out all over the Pacific. There’s nothing funny about that!”

There’s an Indian comedian who is very funny, but I can’t remember his name.

Another vote for Eddie Izzard. The thing is, after something like “Dress To Kill”, it’s impossible to maintain that level/quality of material over a long period of time.

Louis CK, Zach Galifianakis, Patton Oswalt, Paul F. Tompkins, Dave Attell, Greg Giraldo, David Cross (in his better moments).

Brian Posehn

Aziz Ansari?

Jerry Seinfeld is funny, and yes living in a constant state of 1994 is lovely, thankyou.

Brian Regan
And yes, Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall, because they’ve been at my family reunions, apparently

Our lists are almost identical. Maybe I should enlist you as a writing partner, since the samples I posted here were met with near-universal scorn.

Wow, I came in to mention these two exact comics.

Russell Peters?

In addition to what others have said: Katt Williams and Aziz Ansari are piss my pants funny. I will stop whatever I’m doing to watch anything those two are on.

I no longer think Carlin is funny. His edginess is too normal these days, and his pace is…off (at least to someone used to the current crop of comedians).

In addition to a bunch above, I’m going to go with Mike Birbiglia as the best comedy show I’ve ever seen.

That tends to happen after you die. :stuck_out_tongue:

The guys from MST3K/Rifftrax are hilarious.

That’s the guy! Does hilarious riffs on Indians and Asians.

Don’t forget their music videos!

Good call. Best suggestion so far, at least.

ive generally liked older carlin, but Mitch Hedburg annoys the crap out of me. he’ll spit out a funny one-liner, then awkward pause where he sucks in his lip, then elaborate on the one liner until he’s explained it to the point where even the stupidest person in the audience could get it, and it ceases to be funny. Am i just seeing the wrong appearances?

Actually funny (and still active): Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Zach Galifianakis, The Amazing Johnathan, Ricky Gervais.

Funny, though either dead or well past their prime: Groucho Marx, George Carlin, Woody Allen, Chaplin, Keaton, Fields, Jacques Tati.

Personally, I dig:
Ricky Gervais
Louis CK
Patton Oswalt
Zack Galifanakis
Kathleen Madigan
Lewis Black
Dave Chapelle
Daniel Tosh
Jon Stewart

She makes me feel funny.
