This has been bugging me for a few weeks now.
On a sitcom (I think), a character reads a line from a pamphlet, which says “Don’t do what Donny Do don’t”, or something like that.
What’s that from?

Simpsons, when Bart (in a sugar-induced ‘Lost Weekend’) joins a boy-scout type organization. He’s looking through the book he’s given before he’ll be allowed to have a knife. The ‘Dos and Don’ts’ include the line ‘Don’t do what Donny Don’t does.’
Ah, that’s it. Thanks, 'gu. I was trying to picture someone from Seinfeld saying it, and that didn’t work. Friends? A bit better of a match, but no cigar. Bob Newhart? Sounds like something he’d say, but I haven’t seen that show in a decade.
