Help me put this Adobe Acrobat question to rest!

I have been trying to figure this out for a few weeks now. I have created a .pdf document with fill-in fields from scratch using a form from work. It is a big sticker form that gets filled out and stuck to the front of file folders, so I don’t want to have the form print, just the text from the fill-in fields. I want to use Acrobat only as a guide so everything prints in the right place. Is there a way to do this?

I’ve asked Adobe gurus, got my hands on a copy of the “Acrobat Bible” and even asked here before all to no avail.

So can anyone tell me if this is possible? Do I give the form image some kind of transparency property when I’m importing it? Can this be set after the .pdf doc is created (after the form fields are created)? I have the hardcopy of the form I want to print to, a scanner, and the full version of Acrobat. And is there a way to code the document so it does the same thing in the free Reader also?
