Help me, Used Book Store Denizens...

You’re my only hope!

I’m looking for an out-of-print book: Willam Murphy, Birder’s Guide to Trinidad and Tobago, 1995. My friend and I are going to Trinidad on the 15th of February on a birding vacation. He says that this is the book to get but we can’t find it anywhere.
[ul][li]I’ve googled and googled. Many links lead to Amazon, telling me that the book is out of print.[/li][li]Used book stores that list it tell me they no longer have it.[/li][li]Ebay: zilch.[/li][li]Local libraries: nada.[/ul][/li]What’s a Doper to do? lightbulb goes on I’ll ask my fellow Dopers, a group most likely to haunt used book stores! So I send out my plea: If you happen to be in a used book store, near the nature section and spy this book, could you drop me a line, pretty please? My email is lreed at rci dot rutgers dot edu. I’ll bake you cookies (sans insects or with, if you like). Thanks!

I’m not sure when I’ll get to the UBS by me, but if I do, I’ll pick it up and let you know. If it turns out that someone gets it to you before I do, I’m sure I can always sell it back.

Check this out, if you haven’t already:

WOW, you guys are fast! Thanks very much for the offer, TruePisces, but the book that Mjollnir linked to is now gone (and soon to be in my hot little hands).

So, Mollnir, what kind of cookies do you like? Chunky chocolate chip or scrumptious raisin-oatmeal? Sinful sugar or a meaty mealworm ( it’s really more nutty tasting)? I’m serious about the cookies - email me. And thank you thank you thank you!

I found it on Abebooks.com, for $15.

Hopefully this link will take you straight to your book.

Lsura, it was still available at the ABEBOOKS. Thanks very much for looking! I had checked there two days ago, and they didn’t have it. In fact, I had earlier checked out the Amazon used books too, and they were also out at the time. I guess this book moves quickly between hands.

But now I have it, thanks to Mjollnir (spelled right this time, d’oh!).

Perhaps a mod could close this thread so folks don’t search needlessly? And thanks again to you all! Dopers are the BEST!

For future reference, I found this website and have found it to be amazing. They have everything.
