I am in desperate need of some MST3K episodes. In this day and age there has to be some website offering free divx, avi, realmedia or whatever downloads. I could break down and try to get tapes from ebay, but that would likely leave me broke.
Monster rips evil scientist’s assistant’s arm off. Assistant staggers upstairs, clutching bleeding stump. He lurches around, daubing everything with blood, taking a phenomenally long time to die. After what feels like seven minutes of this, he finally makes it to a chair, where he dies.
Mike: “Ironically, he collapsed into an armchair.”
Okay, it’s not what you asked for, but it’s a fix. I do what I can.
Narrator: “And then Kaye asked that all-important question…”
Crowe: “How do Pop-Tarts work?”
Also, you’re an utter BASTARD. I have a library of MST3k tapes, but no VCR. Now I want to find some clips online to satisfy my growing urge to smash and destr- er, to watch and laugh.
You can buy a number of the episodes on tape, and now even on DVD.
If you need New MST3K stuff, you can find approximations on the web. Look up “The MSTification of Doc Savage” (It’s on the Doc Savage Webring), or the wonderful MST3K treatment of the wonderfully awful “The Eye of Argon” (which I posted about a couple of months ago). Or look up the jillion MST3K sites on the Web. Some of them will sell or trade episodes.
You know, if any of you guys happen to be in Mid-Michigan, I’ve got about 30 episodes on tape. I’m not about to go making copies and shipping them all over the planet, but if anybody (within an hour radius or so) wanted me to swing over some weekend with tapes in hand…
Marxboy, you’re in Austin, aren’t you? The Alamo Drafthouse (www.drafthouse.com) does “Mister Sinus Theatre” sometimes. They show a movie and have 3 guys up at the front with microphones making fun of it.
I saw “Masters of the Universe” (the He-man movie) like that. It was great.
the idiots in charge of cable in my area conspired together for me to miss the show for all 10 seasons of new episodes, when i went to college, i finally had comedy central, for the 1 epsisode they had left of mst3k before it moved to sci-fi, which we didnt get at cable or at home. now we finally got cable at home, but since i got a real job now and live far away, my mom tapes the show every saturday morning for me.
“Joel, why would anybody want to do that with Mitchel?”
I’m surprised Guinastasia hasn’t stopped by this thread yet.
MarxBoy consuming others’ intellectual property for free is stealing, and is wrong. But there are many places on the Web where you can by tapes and DVD’s. Four of the Comedy Central episodes and the theatrical MST3K movie are now available on DVD.
I have almost every MST3K episode on tape. I’ve got all of seasons 2-10, but only about a third of the first season. I’ve even have a couple KTMA episodes (pre-Comedy Central era) on tape. BWAHAHAHA!! Sorry, but I can’t copy tapes (too busy, plus I only have one VCR anyway).
Actually, Best Brains (the producers of the show) don’t mind tape trading. They have a tape trading forum on their official web site, and even once had the tagline “Keep Circulating the Tapes” at the end of the show credits. I’ve been out of the loop for awhile, but the convention was that episodes that are commercially available from Rhino Home Video weren’t traded.
Oh, this is for your MST3K fix, from ep. 212, Godzilla vs. Megalon, it’s the Jet Jaguar Fight Song:
He jock it made of steel…Eats sushi from a pail…
Jet Jaguar? Jet Jaguar!
He mother never really love him…
He crimefighting covers up a basic insecurity…
He dickey covers up an adam’s apple the size of a Toyota!
He basically good hearted…
But he’d like to smash that kid against a rock…
Knock! Knock! Knock! Who’s there?
His head looks like Jack Nicholson…
Don’t smile like that it will stay that way!
Yahmmmaahoaahoaaaughhh!!!
Don’t touch my bags, if you please, Mr. Customs Man!
I just want to add that although BBI doesn’t mind tape trading, this is a gray area for SDMB and I wouldn’t condone using these boards to promote it. There are other, more appropriate forums for that (such as the trading board at the official MST3K site).
[sub](Quietly I note that my 100th post is about MST3K. How appropriate.)[/sub]
I’m a mod at SAAN, and we’re dealing with a troll invasion. We’re debating on whether to invade them with Hello Kitty, like we did with Counter Strike.
Be sure to use the search functions; MSTings are in just about every forum. All of my “Digimon” MSTings are in that forum. Click on author’s names to get their complete listings and websites. Mike and Joel aren’t used as often at FFN as they should be, but personally I can’t MST without Mike, Tom, Crow, and the Mads.
