Help me with mysterious Hotmail pop-up messages.

Everytime I log on I get a popup message from Hotmail saying I have new messages. I don’t have a hotmail account. When I click on the link I get asked for my .net password and username. I don’t have a .net account either.

Does anyone know what’s going on and what I can do about it?

Thanks.

What software are you using to log on with? Sounds like it might be something your ISP and/or browser is doing. Has it always done this?

Running Adaware might not fix the problem, but is always a good idea. You can get it for free from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

I think it’s part of the Microsoft World Domination Scheme. If you see that you have “New Hotmail” often enough, you may succumb, and actually get a hotmail/.NET account.
Ah, the Power Of Suggestion. Bill Gates is Watching You.

I use Windows 95. I am not sure what the name of the dial-up software is; I thnk it’s just called Dial-up Networking. This problem started a few weeks back.

Anyway thanks for the replies.

You’re screwed. It sucks to be you

Hmm what do you mean? Are you joking because it’s not that bad.
