FOr the past few days, my computer will not show images from the internet, such as the quote buttons, or even the “post reply” or “new thread”. I just installed Direct x for windows '98, and it seems to have happened around the same time. Any ideas???
I’m not sure if it could be the DirectX upgrade or not. I wouldn’t think the board utilizes DirectX but DirectX does have some interaction with your computers video. A good first place to start is to check and see if there’s a driver update for your video card.
I know it’s not much of a suggestion but in the absence of any other posts it’ll keep you busy till someone more knowledgeable comes along.
There is a setting on some browsers that lets your browse without showing graphics (it was useful back when fast modems were 9600 baud). Sometimes it gets turned off.
Well, I decided to defrag my devil-machine, and low-and-behold everything works fine now. Though I’m taking C++ in depth now, I still don’t understand how computers work that much. Of course, making making AI without arms, legs, or ports would be pretty fun, I’d think:
ME: Tell me how to fix this or I’ll kill you.
AI: Syntax error: you must phrase that in the form of a question.
ME: <as I grab my baseball bat> smashy-smashy!!!
