My roommate and I are arguing over a line in an episode in the third season of Scrubs. It’s the episode titled “My Catylst,” and it’s the first of two that guest starred Michae J. Fox. During the second episode that he guest starred, he mentions his three second limit for handshakes. My roommate then made the comment that in the first episode, when he shook Dr.Cox’s hand, he said he had a two-second limit. I said no, it was three seconds then too. When the episode finished, we went back and watched that scene in the first episode to see who was right, and…
I heard three seconds, but my roommate swears he hears Michael J. Fox say two. My roommate is wrong. We watched the scene over twenty times, even with the closed captioning on (the closed captioning agrees with me, that he says three.) My roommate, however, still says he hears him say two, and argues that closed captioning isn’t always correct (he’s right, it’s not.)
So, I ask you, those who have the season 3 DVDs, to verify that I am right. I know he says three (he says he never hears an ‘r’ sound, and while I agree the ‘r’ sound is faint and almost not there, I counter with the fact that there is NO ‘o’ sound, and a definite ‘e’ sound, to which he has no reply.) I am 99% sure he is just being stubborn and doesn’t want to admit defeat (we’ve all been there, and I know his personality well, and he is stubborn to the point of making it a character trait. He insists on things that are completly false all the time, but usually then admits later he knows the right answer, but still believes the wrong one. He hasn’t done that yet here, so I think he still actually believes he says two.)
So…I am right…right?
