The Royal Canadian Mounted Police need names for ten puppies.
The actual competition is restricted to those under 16 years of age; in addition, the names must begin with “S,” and be under 9 letters in length, and have one or two syllables.
I dare them to use “Shania.”
Can the Dopers come up with some appropriate (or inappropriate) names?
Seriously, puppies often have a negative reaction to the “S” sound - it’s instinctual, as it can protect them from harm from snakes. Whoever decided on the “must start with S” thing apparently is not aware of this.
I think “Sarge” would be a good name for a police dog.
When they take on a new litter of puppies, they give them names that all start with the same letter. Guide dogs are the same way. I’m thinking “Sangre,” “Stupid” or “Stutz.”
Snookums
Sugarbabe
Sweetums
Snugglepup
…
Because I really want to see the look on some crimial’s face when the canine officer tells “Snookums” to “take 'im down!”
“Snookums? take me down?
Oh yeah, right, I’m real scared!
Come here little puppy…ie… oh, ahhh…
