Help this impoverished preacher buy a holy party plane

Benny Hinn is trying to raise $6 million so that he can buy a monumental and historic ministry tool. He only asks that you give him $1,000. Somewhere in there he promises that each doners’ name will be engraved somewhere on the plane, so that while he’s healing prostitutes one-on-one on the way to Bimini, he’ll pray to God for your eternal salvation.

I personally think it’s a pretty good investment. It certainly beats giving Pat Robertson moolah for a milkshake. I’ll be writing up a check as soon as I finish replying to this email I got from a scared widow in Nigeria.

And did you know that FCC rules gives the station credit toward “community” programming when they run his show? Thus when they air him they are less vulnerable to competitor’s lust for their broadcasting permit. Your gummint at work.

I say this an an actual evangelical (although I do subscribe to the Wittenburgh Door, and yes, I know it’s misspelled, it’s a joke):

Benny Hinn is a wacko. Really. Truly. You can’t take him seriously, and you can’t use him as an example of anything related to me, any more than you can say the KKK stands for Southerners.

So he’s gonna inscribe the name of some kebabs on the plane, nice

Can’t the word of God fly coach?

[Bono] The God I believe in isn’t short of cash, mister. **

Hinn is such a creep. One thing I was wondering, though… I know he’s a charleton, people who’ve watched the exposes about him know he’s a fraud, those who work for him (the ones with the earpieces who feed him the prompts for the “healings” know he’s a fraud… How many people in his organisation are in on it? How far down does inside knowledge go? The true believers are in the audience, and the SOB is on stage. What about the levels in between? How many people in his business (if it’s a “ministry”, then I’m a tall, blonde, runway model) are aware? How do you run such a scheme without having it totally exposed by ex-employees?

I think one of the problems is that so many people don’t want to hear the exposes.

The now-defunct Cornerstone magazine published a devestating article about the “Christian” “comedian” (yes, I doubt both of those terms) Mike Warnke: http://www.cornerstonemag.com/features/iss098/warnke_index.htm

Despite this, and the article winning journalism awards, a few years ago I saw that Warnke was speaking in a church near me. I missed the meeting because I found out too late, but I’m interested in how he’s spinning his background as a complete liar. WHO are these people hiring him still? Who can consent to work for him?

Oh, and that article has some insight into what happens in that kind of business, as you were asking. The employees felt that no one wanted to hear from them, and they needed jobs too… etc.

Ooh! You’re a tall, blonde, runway model?

He wants the 6 million for the REST of the down payment!!

And just exactly does one read “Prayerfully”?
I ask you to prayerfully read the brochure I have enclosed.
I’ve read lots of books but never this way. Whatever way it is.
Jeez, how many miles can one fly (even first class) for 6 million?
He really needs an old school bus and a tent.

The word is “charlatan” but I actually like your spelling of it better.

Oh, and I think I may make a donation just to get that model of the plane. That thing is really classy.

Probably. No one wants to feel like a fool, and become quite antogonistic if made to do so.

With loads of money, too!

I knew as soon as I clicked “submit” that I should have checked…
