Huh, I only knew about Chris and Liam. Looks like Luke has a pretty solid resume. Maybe Liam is a really poor man’s Chris and a poor man’s Luke.
I meant adult brothers. I was aware the girl in Thor 4 was his daughter.
Now you won’t have to.
I wonder how much he’s kicking himself for quitting The Witcher now? Whatever idea DC has in mind for him, it’s got to be a big step down from Superman.
I actually like the idea of going back to Clark Kent, cub reporter. That could seriously lighten up the tone of the movie.
I wonder if they can find a way to re-hire him for Witcher.
I wonder if it was Cavill’s idea to quit both those properties? I wonder if something is going on with him?
Or maybe he’s just tired of living on boiled chicken breasts and working out 12 hours a day and wants to try acting in other roles than over-muscled hero?
I think Netflix would have kept him as Geralt as long as they made the show. He must have thought Superman movies were going to be made.
It doesn’t seem like he’s choosing to leave the DC/Superman role; it looks like the studio is planning to depict an “earlier period” of Superman’s life, for which a 39-year-old actor may not be the best fit.
(I might also suspect that DC/WB is choosing to distance themselves from the Zack Snyder era, including the actors from those films.)
He seemed to be genuinely excited to get back to wearing the cape, he even filmed a post-credit scene for Black Adam.
Late to the party, but it was mentioned in another thread that Cavill was at odds with the writers about hewing close to the books, plot wise. He is apparently a big fan of the books and didn’t like they stopped the jumping around the timelines that so many viewers found confusing in the first season. In other words, producers didn’t want to follow his plan so they parted ways.
Supposedly there’s a 40k Warhammer project in thw works now…
It sounds like they could run into the same problem again, because Cavill is also a big Warhammer fan/player. There should be a lot more leeway because of the sheer scope of Warhammer gaming. Wait and see if anything comes of it, I guess.
An article regarding the Warhammer project. Amazon has secured the rights to the property, and Cavill is attached to star and executive produce. I’m a little surprised Amazon is biting off what would undoubtedly be another expensive, CGI-heavy fantasy franchise after the insane amount of money they dropped on Rings of Power, but I suppose Bezos has the cash to do it.
The jumping timelines bit is only in the first book, as it’s a collection of short stories. The books are pretty linear until Lady of the Lake, which is just a narrative shit-show of a different stripe.
