I was a bit surprised to hear that 12 year olds were working as pharmacists though. No wonder they keep getting the pill counts wrong- they haven’t finished high school yet. This is something we should discuss at the next SDMB world domination meeting- maybe right after our musical salute to Ralph Nader.
On a unrelated note, I am enjoying the dualing meltdowns happening in the Pit. Its like a race where only morons are allowed to run (insert political joke here). 
I’m just curious, elf6c. This is the second time you have implied that I am an idiot or moron. Why is that? I mean, is there a specific thing you might point to to suggest this is true, or are you simply parroting what you heard someone else say?

Sorry to ruin my image and the drama I created, but I’m apologizing to everyone. You have the right not to accept, but I do feel guilty now. You all are people behind your writings and I’ve been awful. I’ve felt rotten ever since I posted last night. I discussed it with my boyfriend who is also a straight doper. He suggested to me “Don’t ever post when you’re angry. Why don’t you wait a week before going back on.” I won’t tell you his username because I wouldn’t want to bring his good reputation down with mine. BTW, I’m female for those of you who assumed I wasn’t. But I couldn’t wait that one week to apologize. I was a real bitch. I’m not even that nasty in real life. I guess I was too pissed off at Hentor the Barbarian in the Bush is Frightening thread. I should have ranted and raved in the BBQ pit instead of in Great Debates to begin with, then Hentor wouldn’t have had to yell back at me. He was the only one calling me out for being off-base, and I couldn’t stand being pushed around. Yet I was the one pushing everyone else around. I probably gave my fellow God-believing anti-abortion conservatives a bad name with my wrong approach.
I do still think that the Straight Dope is dominated by the liberal types, and I do wish more conservatives would speak up on this message board. I was glad to see the link to Copper_Moon’s thread of “where are the Christians.” I think the conservatives may be out there, but I really wish I more of them would be just as vocal as the others. It’s really hard not running into anyone like me, and these days that seems to be the case. I’ve been REALLY frustrated with that lately.
My apologies to Hentor. My apologies also to Diogenes the Cynic for wishing ill will on his unit. I also am very repentful for rubbing my career in peoples’ faces, but it was the only way I thought I could prove I’m not an idiot among all the criticism thrown at me. I appreciate everyon’e occupation. Money is not the measure of success. Being a well-liked person is much more important.
Perhaps I don’t belong in message boards where I feel like a fish out of water. Anyone know of a more conservative one you could refer me to? I’m probably setting myself up for a few good taunts. You all will probably refer me to one for kooky drug induced pharmacists or something.

What you’ve just done, with your apology, is a fine example of not just Good Doper Behavior, but Good Behavior In General. You went a bit over the top in your lash-out, but once you stepped back and chilled, you came back and apologized. Things like that are appreciated here. A lot.

Well, I accept your apology, and I feel bad now, too. I have to say that I don’t see the liberal bias here - there are many, many posters who express conservative points of view. I don’t know of any, but I am sure that there are more conservative boards in existence. Good luck.

As for conservatives speaking up on this board, I invite you to do a search for “God,” “The Bible,” or “Creation,” in Great Debates. You’ll find we are there. But, we don’t have to post in every thread. I’ve even seen a few Creationists and ultra fundies posting.

It’s a classy move to apologize and you should know that people don’t mind conservative views on this board, (and there are plenty) it’s your tone that will get you pitted. I’m one of the most liberal posters here and not a week goes by that I don’t get called a fucking shitbag, or a commie or an anti-American prick. Sometime I deserve it sometimes I don’t (usually I do, probably). The best thing to do is just apologize, like you did, and move on. Most people don’t hold grudges here, and you can’t take that stuff too seriously. It’s part of SDMB culture to get pitted. You’re nobody until you’ve been barbecued.
Another piece of advice, attack the posts but not the posters. Don’t make it personal if you don’t have to.
It’s also a good idea to use “IMO” or “I think…” when posting religious opinions. “I, personally,don’t believe in God” sounds much less obnoxious than “Your little sky fairy doesn’t exist.”
