Here, Kitty Kitty !!

It’s Springtime. Flowers bloom. Men feel more manly. Women feel coquettish. ( Be nice, I’m laying groundwork here. ) Felines are producting kittens in copious amounts. What’s a Daddy to do?

We lost one of our four cats about a month ago, we euthanized him. Painful for us all, and it really broke my 11 year old daughter for about a week. We promised she could pick out a kitten.

Today was the day. Off we went to an animal rescue up around Middletown. In the back room I personally witnessed in excess of 2,300 kittens. ****** Each kitten was more adorable than the last one until finally I suffered some kind of collapse due to extreme overexposure to Cute. While I was being brought around by the nice people at the animal rescue facility ( who must this happen all the time. They had smelling salts and a Coca Cola Slurpee for me when I came around ), the Wifestrocity and** Fem-Bot** and Man-Cub had chosen a kitten.

He is at least as gorgeous than the other 2,299 kittens I saw. Perhaps a shade moreso. It’s difficult to tell, since I’ve no perspective here. New parenthood does that, you know. We put him in the Fem-Bot’s bedroom for now, so he can recover from the unspeakable shock of being separated from his 2,299 feline bretheren and in general adjust to things.

He has been named Dobbie, due to the ear-size-to-skull-size ration he’s been endowed with. We’re talking so darned cute that if I had a way to do so, why I’d post photos right here.

Anyone else adopting kittens now-adays?

Blatant Lie.

Middletown in what state?

I have three cats so a new kitten is out. :frowning:

But, I had a really cool experience a few years ago. I took in a pregnant cat from my local shelter (PAWS in Norwalk, CT, a great organization). So I got to have four kittens for a few months and then they all were adopted, including the momma kitty. I recommend this to anyone that wants to help out. You do get attached, but it’s still a lot of fun.

We have a full house right now, but a friend has to find a home for a cat. I promised I’ll take her in if she can’t find another home. I’d prefer a kitten (who wouldn’t), but the kitty would go to the pound, and would probably be put to sleep (given her age), and I’m not about to let that happen. Have fun with your furball, and congrats on saving one little fluff from being killed.

They find us with frightening regularity. We’ve hung garlic by the door, but they are undeterred - cute little bastards. Good luck with Dobbie! koee

Great name.

We adopted ours back in October - or perhaps I should say he adopted us. One of our neighbors used to own him, then apparently decided they didn’t want a cat any more, so they tossed him out. He wandered down to our end of the street, undeterred by dogs, and got all cute and cuddly and everything. My husband took him to live aboard the boat with him.

Here he is looking all innocent. As yet unnamed, he’s been called FartCat, Leadfoot, Norbert, and (by my sister) Bluto. So that’s my kitty adoption story.
