Bah. Those are pansy-ass illusions. Try these on for size. Especially “Rotating Snakes” about halfway down the page.
Meh. I rather enjoyed the Rotating Snakes one, but the rest forced me to sit staring at the screen until my eyes dried out and became gummy to perceive any sort of effect, and by that time, I can’t swear it was the intrinsic nature of the illusion that made me start “seeing things.”
Yeah, the rotating snakes were mind-blowing! I’ve never seen an illusion as powerful and immediate as that one!

Do you suppose you could get some of that stuff as wallpaper? Assuming you wanted to go insane of course.

I wish I could get a tattoo of something like this stuff.
I don’t know if it was my colourblindness, or my screen resolution or refresh rate, but apart from the rotating snakes (once or twice) the rest of those colourful spirals did nothing at all for me.
For me the count is one. Do other people see more? I just see an occasional black dot out of the corner of my eye which shifts locations. Experimental conditions: been sipping vodka for a while.
I take it most of these illusions require two working eyes to function.
I can’t see much in them.
I’ve set the Rotating Snakes (the big one) as my background. That’ll teach people to wander into my cube.
I don’t know what browser you use, but in Mozilla Firebird, I just right-clicked the image and selected “Set As Wallpaper”. Worst case, you can save a copy of the image (as a bitmap if you’re using Windows) and put it in with your other wallpaper files.
I tried this one twice and nothing happened.
All the other illusions posted were cool though!

Ah, the old “The Skin-Crawling Spiral”! One of my favourites! I got a paper copy of that yonks ago. I used to put it on my turntable. When I found a .gif of it back in the '90s, it was one of the first things I downloaded. I have one on a metal disc somewhere. The disc has a dimple on it so that it will spin on a table.
