Here's the Pit thread for career criminal civilans killing cops.

Yeah, right, we can start Pit threads when cops kill civilians, but where’s the outrage over this incident?

BTW, both the (dead) cop and the (criminal) shooter were African-Americans.

News at eleven.

That’s very sad.

But he’s just a criminal, and we don’t expect scumbags to be anything better than scumbags. Is it that surprising that people hold police officers to a higher standard?

Right. And serial killers who prey on hookers and gay people are “better” than those who take out banker’s daughters and blond cheerleaders.

Thanks. I’ve been afraid to make my feelings known, but now I know I’m not alone
(I know it rhymes, please don’t moan)

I can now say loud and proud that I am firmly in the camp of those against career criminal civilians killing cops.
I feel much better now.

Is your vague response trying to say that police and the like should not be held to a higher standard?

Well, I certainly am not in the camp of “help help, we’re being repressed!” and holding this up as evidence of some kind of nation wide anti-cop thing.

Bottom Line: Scumbags gotta scumbag. Career criminal takes out a cop on his own way out the door. Not a new thing.

Dammit.

First of all, the news media needs to stop giving these mass shooters, cop killers, jackoffs with guns, whatever, names. Refer to them as “malcontent malfeasance,” or half-witted assholes, (but they will never do that over the air) Giving them names gives the notoriety. It makes them something in the sick world they live in. Stop doing it. What the fuck do I care what some asshole’s name is anyway? I don’t want to hear from their parents or their homeboys about what a great, misunderstood person the shitstain was. Then cremate the shooter and bury them at the city dump with the other garbage.

Is this a Snapti parody thread, or is Annie Xmas really that stupid and tone deaf?

I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt.

I am absolutely outraged that criminals kill people. Including cops.

But I will continue to point out: it continues to be safer to be a law enforcement officer in America now than at any time since the 19th century - if then. Officer Holder is the 32nd police officer to be killed by gunfire this year. (Note: the numbers at that link will change during the remainder of the year.) Since we’re over 4/5 of the way through 2015, that’s on track for 40 police officers shot to death this year. That would be the second lowest figure in the past decade, and given the dramatic overall decline in police deaths in the past few decades (in 1974, 280 police officers were killed in the line of duty; last year it was 117), it’s probably the second-lowest total since the 1950s, when we were a much smaller nation.

I’m sorry? Don’t quite follow you there.

a gay banker’s daughter and a blond hooker cheerleader

(and compare and contrast if it were a banker’s gay daughter)

Well, there’s another difference between cop-killer scumbags and people(especiallyblack)-killer cops:

We do seem, paradoxiwockle, to hold the scumbags to a higher standard: We put much effort into identifying them, catching them, arresting them, charging them, prosecuting them, and punishing them, as far as possible. So there may be outrage at these killings happening, but there’s little need for outrage about them getting away with it, because society does make an effort to catch and punish them. (Well, actually, there are outrageous systemic exceptions to even that, typically in the realm of ghetto-on-ghetto crimes. (ETA: And a lot of big-time white-collar crime.))

But with cops, it’s different: They typically seem to get away with murder, with little or no effort to prosecute them. So instead of being held to a higher standard, they are actually held to a lower standard, at least in public perception. There’s your outrage.

Serious question: what do you hope or expect our response to be to that shooting? I’m sure 99.9% of people here think its bad that its happening, do not agree with the shooter, and want him in jail or executed. That goes without saying.

Bringing this up in the context of an opposition thread to the one where cops kill innocent people gives the impression that you want cops to be able to kill people. Of course I don’t believe you believe that, so what point are you trying to make?

Just add Jason Statham and that’s a movie pitch.

Seriously?

There’s nothing wrong about a thread pitting an sack of shit cop killer, career criminal. But the context of the OP is as an opposition to the thread on the extreme problem with cops killing, maiming, and assaulting innocent people or otherwise overstepping their bounds as police officers.

Do you or Annie Xmas have any doubt as to whether this jack ass will face justice?

Because the issue is that most of the time cops DO NOT FACE JUSTICE for their criminal actions, and often times the system does not bring about repercussions to issues stemming from stupidity, incompetence, poor training, poor procedures, etc, which lead to very bad outcomes. Often times the system is not at all transparent and there is no accountability, nor redress for the people affected.

That is tyranny of a sort.

“Lock, Preferred Stock, and Two Smoking Hooters”

Don’t know which to be more ashamed of, that you posted it or that I laughed.

What a scumbag! It so sad … cop must shot first!!:smack:
