You thought Noah went nuclear on Sylar for pawing around Claire’s noggin? If Sandra had half a chance I think she’d spend the afternoon lopping off his body parts, wait until they grew back, and lop them off all over again. And enjoy it immensely.
Uff, such is my hatred for Sylar as a character if she ever did do that, this would promote her from being Best TV Mom Ever in my eyes to a point where have I apply for adoption somehow. In a show that likes playing with mirrors of characters, I love how as they have the Nice Mum, they also have the character of Angela who plays the monstrous mother card with a stunning gothic intensity. She’s amazing in her own way.
And they may have started somewhere similar, who knows?
Hmmmn. Is this a hint of some backstory in futures eps or just thoughtful speculation of the character’s past? I don’t read the spoilers but that would be interesting.
Spec, totally. Couple of gals, marry some dudes with dark pasts & presents, get caught up in that, or not.
It’s been mentioned before that all of the possible futures they’ve seen have actually been fairly similar: a war or conflict between one side and the other. Sometimes it’s between norms and supers, sometimes it’s between everybody and a fatal disease. They’ve given up on trying to prevent or cause a specific future and just trying to guide things, now that they’ve seen there are odd forces at work that prevent them from making substantial changes to the dynamic: there’s a war coming, and only one side gets to win it.
Unfortunately for the ones most people seem to think of as the heroes, the good guys seem to have about the same level of rational planning as a bunch of 6-year-olds playing dodgeball.
I admit I see them as being more different than they are alike although yes, they have their similarities in their life choices, don’t they?
But I think Sandra’s defining characteristic is how much she loves both her children no matter what, and indeed more or less equally. Angela’s defining feature for me is how ruthlessly conditional her love and help really are.
This, I think, is one of the best things they did with regards to powers; I find it MUCH more interesting when Peter is limited to one power at a time, instead of just being EmoSylar. I hope they find a good nerfing solution to Hiro’s powers, assuming he eventually gets them back.
It is interesting that the characterizations of both Sandra and Angela have remained consistent since Season 1, but have been developed to have more depth and nuance. Meanwhile, most of the main characters have randomly veered all over the map in characterization.
I wonder if it is that the suits don’t mandate direction for the minor characters as they seem to have done for their favorites like Hiro, Peter, and Claire. Although Noah has remained relatively consistent, and he’s certainly one of their faves, too…
I think that Hiro may have his powers back as much as he’s ever going to, but hasn’t realized it yet – I suspect that Ando will be able to “power up” Hiro enough for him to access his powers.
Hmmm…so what if they make it so that Hiro’s powers ONLY work if Ando powers him up each time? Might make things interesting…
So, who is “Rebel”, any speculation
Bennett, Nathan or some as yet unidentified character.
I do not think it is Nathan even if he did save Peter, Bennett did give Peter a mental clue about his being setup at the exchange but did not appear to be in a position to give Matt and Peter indications while they were in the control room.
What is the general opinion?
Rebel = Micah. Other leading contender is Rebel = Hana “Wireless” Gitelman.
I hope it’s Micah, he always wanted to be/his parents to be comic book heroic, now he is. And only a 12 year old would think ‘Rebel’ was a cool alias.
I’m going with Micah - thought “wireless” was killed off in one of the webisode comics - I know death has no meaning here - but that’s what I recall.
I thought the web comic had Hana killed off, but “Wireless” survived as a virtual person/identity/whatever.
Except that the mysterious computer mastermind “Rebel” clearly knew that Daphne was not there, so why send Peter and Matt? Just to get Matt captured?
That’s the impression I got, too. Wireless is supposedly still out there fighting the good fight, according to the web comics. It would make a lot of sense for Wireless to be the Rebel, but she, being one of the only ones to actually adopt a code name for herself (and apparently proud of it) would probably still be using “Wireless.” That would leave Micah as a likely candidate, but if so then his abilities would have seemed to expanded from what we saw.
He was able to hack into computer systems before, I think he’s just gotten better.
Of course, Micah, it’s been a while since we heard from him, so, he was kind of under my radar.
Hana, who the hell is Hana.
Then, some googling produced this site and this page and I still do not really know who Hana is.
And I had no knowledge of those “Graphic Novels” that the site refers to, are viewers following those too. Apparently, they can be viewed online, are they free.
“Graphic novels” are what kids today are calling comic books. I hope I wasn’t just woooshed. “Graphic novels” still sound like the Tijuana bibles of my youth.
