But is he usually a great strategist? He can think on his feet and adapt to fluid situations but this is the guy who still managed to get shot in the face when he had prophesied documentation of what would happen and who would likely pull the trigger. But total 10/10 for the ‘Elle in Muggle’s doggie bath’ trick.
He really needs the Haitian back. He’s like intelligence catalyst for Noah or something. Things always go to hell when he’s not around
I’m not gonna say he’s the world’s best strategist, but after the way he took Danko to task for just rushing in on the shapeshifter without any research, without any patience, for him to do it himself seemed pretty out of character.
Of course, I’ve been known to be hypocritical on one or two occasions myself, so I guess it’s human nature.
Whatever happened to Other Mohinder, the stick insect that Mohinder inherited from his father? What with Matt also seemingly having forgotten that turtle (which always looked more likely to be a tortoise), I think they did the right thing in posting Molly to wherever they did.
Also, I’m sure we are supposed to be finding Peter’s Not Speaking to Nathan deeply tragic but he’s going about it all in such petulant childish fashion that it’s just hilarious. I kept expecting him to be all “MA! Nathan’s shovelling dirt on me!” (Angela: “if you two don’t behave yourselves, we are all getting back in the car and driving back to New York and then no more Storyline for any of you”)
Overall, I am sadly resigned to be zigging whenever you all zag on the enjoyment of the episodes of this season - I think overall the stuff since the hiatus has been fantastic but the pacing of this one felt so static that overall it just fell flat for me. I liked Danko being in love with a hooker though - that was awesome.
I half-watched this episode while studying, and all I’ve got to say is that the Petrellis have got to be *the *most dysfunctional TV family ever. I’m giving them one episode of working together, digging in the desert, before they try to kill each other.
I wasn’t too surpised by Bennet’s actions. He seems to have a major thing for getting Sylar and that kind of obsession can screw with someone. Picture a guy who has a chance to go after his daughter’s rapist. There a good chance he isn’t going to be all cold and caluclating about it. Add in the guy keeps getting away from him and you just make it worse.
Plus Sylar impersonated his wife which resulted in Noah holding a gun to her head. I think Noah’s “Get Sylar” impulse was seriously overriding his “Don’t Trust Danko” impulse.
Although he did partner with him for a little while and never tried to plant a hatchet in the back of his head. Tried to get his sucked into a quantum singularity, but nothing violent. Until the throat cutting. That was at minimum a manslaughter charge
Speaking of the revenge, I’m glad Claire got to (temporarily) kill him too. She’s a big girl and developing skills; let her get her own vengeance on. I think Molly should get a crack at him too.
Good episode, definitely see Fuller’s influence starting to take effect. Only thing that was lame was Angela:
I could just tell you that there are many dead bodies buried here, but it’s more dramatic if I make you dig for a few hours so that we have a dramatic visual for the audience!
Nathan: Uh, ma, can you just freaking tell us what this is about?
Mama Petrelli: Keep digging.
Peter: Keep diiging? Keep diggin??? JAyzus we’ve been digging and we found trhese skeletons and what am I supposed to do now, run a spectral microscopic laser anlayis on it?
Mama Petrelli: If you want answers, keep digging?
Claire: Just freaking tell us? Holy crap! It’s like you are trying to drag this out to next week or something!
Ridiculous. It’s clear that Mama Petrelli is actually Tibetan, and she needs to grind up all of the bones with barley and feed them to vultures in order to complete the sky burial.
Sylar would so love that: “Wow, lady, you’re *sick *(insert shit eating grin here)”
I think you may be right. Our little nutter didn’t look too pink and healthy afterwards either. Perhaps shapeshifting + other ability usage tuckers him out.
