Heroes 1/22 - "Godsend" (SPOILERS)

Peter may siphon off some of his donor’s powers, so whatever healing factor he has may have been diminished. There is also the possibility of being bulletproof (not necessarily fall-from-a-great-height-proof), being able to turn desolid or have some way of deflecting bullets. Also, messing with peoples’ minds so the cop just plain missed him. And, Bennett has been messing with him to the point of almost killing him, which has got to be rough on your powers.

Hm, good question. He wants Claire’s healing powers, so he can’t heal himself to the same degree she can.

They’ve shown us that bullets don’t work on him and between him and Peter, Peter was the one who took the most damage from the fall off the ledge. If I had to guess, I’d say he’s resistant to physical damage thanks to his TK. Plus we don’t know all his powers yet, do we?

The reason he looks messed up now is because Haitian is dampening his powers and they pumped him full of some drug, which he appears to be resisting.

Someone upthread mentioned the cockroach. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s learning some chemical and radiation resistance from that little bugger.

Sigh. Does every bug in a superhero story have to have superpowers? Sometimes a cockroach is just a cockroach.

I was always given the impression that his TK was able to stop the bullets a la The Matrix before they touched his body. However, if one were to actually hit him, he’d still be wounded by it and heal at normal rates.

Im not so sure about that, i distinctly remember him falling down after being shot and when Eden comfronted him he looked at her gun and said “do you really think thats going to work on me” or something like that.

Which would get entomologists up in arms. Roaches don’t have chemical resistance–a couple of squirts from an ordinary household cleaner kills 'em. The radiation resistance isn’t really resistance per se but rather the result of their life span being so short.

I think he was referring to her Svengali act, not the gun.

I dunno. The roaches I had in my apartment back in DC used to smack the spray can out my hands, snort it right up their noses, laugh at me and demand, “what else you got?”

Seriously though, it’s a comic book show and only the stodgiest of entomologists would boycott the movies of a certain radioactive spider empowered web-shooting young hero.

Who has been around much longer than these guys.

No, he was definitely referring to the gun there. She raised the gun and he said the line thinking she was going to shoot him, and then she turned it on herself.

Exactly why the bullets wouldn’t have worked on him is unknown. That’s awfully short range for TK to stop/deflect the shots.

Dude…

I just got denied a job from a fictional corporation whose goal is to amass research for marketing purposes.

I thought the same thing, and then they cut to Micah staring at her. I never had a clear understanding of his “powers” but thought he was somehow involved in her breaking the stick.

You are not supposed to have an understanding of his powers. Yet. I think it will be revealed next week. From what has been shown before it is something to do with machinery.

I don’t think so… I think Season 1 is divided into two parts with an ‘advertising gimick’ for each part. The fall season’s was ‘Save the cheerleader, save the world’. The second part seems to be ‘Are you on The List?’ or something similar. I think we’ll see more stuff regarding the list of Heroes and less focus on the cheerleader’s role.

I thought the advertising gimmick was “buy Nissan Versa!”

The only possible exhibition we’ve seen of his powers was when he enabled the broken pay phone. The implication was made that he did something to his laptop that related to his powers but was never stated outright. Next week’s previews have him saying something to the effect of “I have a secret too” and a shot of an ATM so it’s pretty clear that he’s a"technopath." I think too much is being read into his staring at Niki as she broke the stick. Where else is he going to be looking at that moment?

Right. Bear in mind that they haven’t actually let Micah know about his mom’s strength yet, that we know of… he knows she’s a split personality, and she and dad had a fight, then she shot dad, but that’s about it.

So, does anyone else feel like buying a Nissan Versa?

Theres no reason why Niki couldn’t learn to use her power when shes herself, it really didn’t take Isaac very long to learn to use his without drugs. Im sure her power is just super strenght, she just happens to suffer from MPD and her alter ego learned by necessity how to use her strenght first.

I rewatched it last night. Niki puts on her serious face when she’s Jessica. When she snapped the nightstick she popped into her serious Jessica face just long enough to snap it, then Niki looked surprised at what she’d just done. I’d like it if Niki would learn to use her powers herself but so far I’m not convinced anyone but Jessica is using them.
