Actually, I could have used some subtitling for the Irish scenes…
But to tell the truth, I’m getting damn tired of trying to read text flashed on top of busy backgrounds. Couldn’t they at least put something neutral behind the letters to give those of us with smaller screens/older eyes a fighting chance at reading them all?
I have a theory on the car: the sponsors said “we’re paying for the season promo to launch the ad campaign for this car, so we need one of your young, hip characters to get this car as a gift.” The writers groaned, fought with the producers, and got the sponsors to agree that the car couldn’t be like Knight Rider – they needed permission to take the car away from her if the plot demanded it. Then the writers crammed the car into the plot, and then just as quickly yanked it back out so that they wouldn’t have to go through all of their stories trying to answer the question, “wait, why didn’t Claire just drive away?”
Is anyone else seeing a red box in the lower left corner every time they come back from commercial? Anyone want to bet this is some sort of regional anti-piracy thing?
Easy Peasy. The whole “remembering how people made him feel” bit was just some sissy hangup on his part and a convenient way to give him some measure of control over his powers. One quick whack on the head and all of his hangups are gone thanks to a case of soap opera brand amnesia (It’s the amnesiest!). Now he can use his powers the same as everybody else.
As for why he doesn’t just tk the box over, he doesn’t remember who he is. He probably doesn’t remember what his powers are. Reflexively waving a gun across the room is easier than using the force to pull a box towards himself.
He got TK from Sylar, who made him feel scared, so that’s ok. We could just say that he got his nifty lightning blasts from someone who made him either confused or scared.
I had assumed that Mama Petrelli was being attacked by Clyde (that was his name, right?) since he’s the only invisible guy we know of and we don’t know what happened to him.
And couldn’t Peter have gotten his electrical powers from Ted? Didn’t he have some kind of electrical power too? (I know he did the EMP thing when he, Matt and Bennett were escaping from the OWI.
The lizard that Mohinder’s father had in his apartment.
I just finished Season 1 last week, so all this stuff is still fresh in my head. In the “5 years later” episode, when Sylar revealed himself and went up against Peter, Sylar displayed some blue power out of his hands, to Peter’s red nuclear power. If Peter absorbed all of Sylar’s powers before he exploded, couldn’t the electric have been picked up from Sylar? I mean, who knows how many powers the guy had picked up at that point?
Also, I am getting annoyed at the Hiro storyline. The last thing he knew, Sylar had thrown him threw the air, and he teleported, not knowing how that ended. Wouldn’t he want to get back as soon as possible, to help finish the situation that, as far as he knows, was still in jeopardy? Or is he now too star-struck by his hero to give his present a moment’s thought?
I think Kensai could be one of Claire’s ancestors, but I don’t think specific hero traits are genetic…her bio mom is a pyro, and Nathan can fly.
How tall is Hayden anyway? She seems really tiny, and the height difference between her and West was somewhat distracting while they were walking around school.
So, the Wonder Twins are real twins, and we know why they need each other…one to kill, one to absorb the killing power. Sounds like they’re one of the guys Midas Touch was talking about…sometimes they have to be destroyed for the greater good if they can’t control themselves.
It’s nice to see Claire is exploring more of what she can do beyond just “Oh crap, a hangnail.”
So Nathan is not the Glyph Killer…he was in the squad room when Mama Petrelli was attacked.
It’s unknown to the general public, not to Parkman. I think that was supposed to be a funny moment for the viewers, like someone telling Clark Kent how cool Superman is.
Regarding Hiro, I agree with Wile E. First, who says Hiro can go back even if he wants to? He’s getting better with stopping time, but travel still seems to be difficult. And second, Hiro (who like most of us, obtained all of his time travel knowledge from Back To The Future) wants to make sure he doesn’t alter the future by screwing something up.
I think the blue power was some sort of freezy thing he picked up early in the season. It’s in one of the first episodes with telepecop if not his first episode. He walks into a scene with someone frozen, someone smashed, and the little tracker girl hidden under the stairs.
Now if you want to get into how an ice power holds off a radioactive power, I can’t help you.
On preview, Revenant got it. I got the details though.
You know, on further reflection, I’m not liking the Cross The Border storyline so much. Mayja is that same stereotype of the woman who can’t handle what life is dishing out that Niki was in Season One – and Niki was seriously the most annoying storyline in Season One. All we see Mayjha do is worry and cry and hope that Alejandro shows up soon.
Booooring. This is twice now where their storyline has been: (1) Mayjgha cries and prays and moans, (2) Alejhandro tells her not to worry, (3) foreshadowing of why they should worry, (4) plot contrivance separates Mayjjjjjjjjha and Alejjjjjjhhhandro so that (5) death ensues, until (6) they’re reuinted to overpronounce each other’s names once more.
Okay, already. Fine. She’s got a problem power. We. Get. It. Now move on in the character development. I don’t want another repeat of the Niki storyline where for 90% of the season Mayjjjjha shows up only to cry and moan. God, at least have someone smack some sense into the girl.
Heavens above, I looked more pained than she did when she cut off her toe.
I’ll take a guess here, based on only two data points. They are twins and keep each other in balance due to proximity. When they become separated (when the truck drove away, or when she crossed through in the tunnel without him), he is unable to counteract her ability, and whatever it is can kill.
