Heroes 11/27 - "Six Months Ago" (spoilers)

Flashbacks abound in an ep that promises to reveal more about the Heroes’ pasts, where they came from and why they were chosen.

Per a suggestion in last week’s thread, what follows are some of the more common nicknames for the various characters. This is not intended to be exhaustive nor is it an attempt to limit the use of other nicknames. Although it would probably be much appreciated by some thread participants that nicknames be abandoned completely, no one is expected to forgo them, but please be sure that your use of nicknames is understandable to anyone who might read the thread.

Claire Bennet - Cheerbleeder
Mr Bennet - AED (Ambiguously Evil Dad)
DL Hawkins - Ghost Dad
Isaac Mendez - Prognostipainter
Hiro Nakamura - Constiporter, Super-Hiro
Matt Parkman - Telepa-cop, Officer Troi
Nathan Petrelli - Captain Congress
Peter Petrelli - Murse (ugh)
Jessica Sanders - ikiN, Doppelbanger*
Ted Sprague - Radioactive Man

*note that using any nickname for Niki Sanders is potentially confusing, so bew sure your post is clear whether you’re refering to Niki or Jessica.

Then how about rePete.

When discussing the show between ourselves, the Hubby and I differentiate between StripperMom (Niki) and Dopplebanger (Jessica). Don’t know if that would help here or not, but the suggestion is offered FWIW.

And I like “rePete.”

I always think of Peter Petrelli as “Wannabe”.

No love for Claire’s friend being AmbiguouslyGayDude after last week’s episode?

Like I said, not meant to be exhaustive. Although I like RePete.

“Lunch for a T-Rex…”

snerk…

Great Scott!

“Great Scott!”

I can’t decide whether the creators want us to believe that Mr Bennet is immune to various powers or that the Haitian is blocking them…

I wish after Syler (I assume) had given his melodramatic “I need to be signifigant, and I’ll do anything” speech he said “Not that I’d do anything evil. No sir, that would be wrong. I’m not evil.”

Okay… wait a second. If Hiro gave her the phrasebook, how come she didn’t remember him? Did somebody else give her the phrasebook the first time??

This time travel stuff is always confusing, but it’s like they’re TRYING to blow our minds.

Ouch. What a terrible way to discover you can fly. (Were either of them wearing seat belts?)

Drat - I also meant to comment on the possible connection between Pete and his brother - are we supposed to think that’s a power or just way to move the plot forward?

Did Nathan scratch his own face to make it look like he’d been injured, too? Or are we supposed to think that ge got hurt when he hit the pavement when he fell from the sky?

First Law of Time Travel: Cause doesn’t always precede Effect.

The car crash would’ve been much more dramatic if Captain Congress didn’t look like a complete tool dangling in mid-air. Not that he’s gonna have perfect form the first time off the ground but still.

What is the deal with Peter and his precognitive dreams? Is Isaac’s dealer in the next apartment or something? Is SanjogIyerSanjog projecting?

Is the watchmaker business a coindicence or a deliberate [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watchmen] reference, especially when coupled with the Doomsday Clock reference from last ep (which also featured in Watchmen)?

Arguments about watchmakers are traditional in discussions of evolution… Richard Dawkins’ book, the blind watchmaker, for instance?? I was interpreting it in that vein.

Let’s try that link again… Watchmen

Huh, so Hiro jumps involuntarily sometimes? Interesting.

I’m not quite buying the timeline in regards to the congressional campaign. Six months doesn’t seem like anywhere near enough time to mount the sort of campaign that Nathan has going.

And good god, creators, sucker punch much? Poor Charley. Poor Hiro.

Wow, I really liked that episode. I liked the way they told the story. Better than last week, even.

Poor Charlie. How heartbreaking for Hiro.

So one of the Heroes is doomed next week? As long as they don’t off Claire, Peter, or Hiro.
